Fate Expansions -- A Balanced Mod
Have you ever wanted more FATE? I don't mean the sequel games, since you'll have to pay for those, and you might not think it's worth the money. I mean the original game, just with more variety. Because that's what this mod will give you. In essence, you'll be getting FATE: Traitor Soul amount of content for free.
[Note: This works with ALL versions of the original FATE; Steam, GOG, old school CD from 2004, you name it!]

New questing dialogue
NPCs will now witness the imminent bane of saying "I'd sure sleep better if that nocturne stalker wasn't around!" Multitudes of hand-made, interesting, and funny dialogue pieces; including missing chocolate pies, crushes on Dreya the Healer, debts to other NPCs, and more, will entertain you throughout your hero's life. Of course, the NPCs will still have you beating the life out of monsters 80% of the time.

New name generation
Getting kind of bored of fighting Axebiter the Cursed every other day? With over 1.2 million new name combinations, you'll never meet the same boss twice. You'll also get more interesting names on enchanted gear as well. With luck, you might even come across a few Easter egg names...

New gems
New gems, taken from future instalments of the FATE series, will now allow you to boost your skills in every single area of play. There's a gem for every enchantment you can get, including the weapon skills. Also, a new class the "divine" gem class, although rare to come by is more potent than even the flawless class.

New items
These items, from future FATE games, will give you much more varied loot, including earrings (worn in the ring slot), armour pieces like you've never seen, and beautiful weapons with which to render your opponents helpless. You'll also come across many amazing new artifacts that can be used to your advantage.

New Dungeons
From future FATE games comes a change of scenery that will do any avid FATE player good, while exploring over 30 new dungeon styles including abandoned factories, giant beehives, ancient pyramids, and subterranean palaces, each with their own visual props and sound effects.

New Monsters
Hah, We all wish it were the case. But my programming/modding skills weren't capable of incorporating monsters from future FATE games into the original. Hopefully what you've seen above will be enough to inspire you to get this mod.

To install the mod, follow these instructions:

Download the mod from the following link.

Nexus: https://www.nexusmods.com/fate/mods/6/

(You may need to copy and paste the link into your address bar.)

Copy the .rar file to your fate game directory (Steam/Steamapps/common/FATE)

Extract the .rar file there. (right click and select "extract here").
Note that you'll need winRAR or some other compression program to extract the file.

If asked to replace or merge files and folders, hit yes.

Start the game, and enjoy the mod!

Recommended advice:

If you aren't sure you'll like this mod or you think it may corrupt your game, make
a backup copy of the FATE folder before modifying anything.

If you plan on importing your charachter into a future FATE game, make sure there are
NO modded items in inventory or pets inventory. The future game will not know what
items are being referenced and will crash.

If you're not sure the mod is working, go to Jin the seer. She will now sell earrings etc.
Also quest givers will start spouting interesting dialogue...

Questions, compliments, bug reports? Post below. I'll hopefully get back to you within 2 days.

So, how is it going? Did you ever complete the mod?
Bakedtoast Oct 15, 2014 @ 3:28pm
The mod is complete. my problem right now is uploading it to dropbox where it can be accessed by everyone. So far, every upload attempt I have tried failed.
On top of that, the external hard drive my mod was on (without backups) was fried, and a family member of mine is the only one with a copy of the modded game on his usb. I have not yet been able to contact him to retrieve it.
I'll get it up though, thanks for reminding me about it. I got a little distracted about the project, but rest assured it is a complete mod and when i get it out there, It'll be great.

This looks great! I better grab the 15 Gems achievement before I get this (if you upload it), otherwise it might be a pain to get the achievement :P

Good luck with the mod! They should really add Workshop to the game... Imagine having like, 8 Dungeons :D and CRITICAL HIT GEMS!!! Lawl, crit-chance is super easy to raise in this game already :P

As far as i can tell, the mod will not mess with any of the achievements. I also know for sure that the mod is stable, I have played several playthroughs without issues. However, I lost some of the later revisions of the mod due to hard drive failure (just a couple of quest dialogues, nothing really serious), I'll try replace what i lost before uploading the mod.

Great! :D ... do you plan on listing any for-sure features early? Or do you want to keep it a secret as to the specifics? :3
Bojangles4th Oct 20, 2014 @ 4:34pm
Hmmm... I'll have to create another character just for this mod though, because I do plan on importing my charater to Undiscovered Realms after I beat the dungeon... And unless you make this mod compatible with the later games, that is almost not possible at all.
Bakedtoast Oct 20, 2014 @ 6:10pm
This mod is entirely compatible with futeure games.
Granted, I havent tested it, but for the sake of authenticity, the only things that aren't from future fate games are quest dialogues and name generations.
That's why i reccomend this mod greatly, becasue all the items were created (and balanced) by the professional wildtangent staff who made the games.

And I have already tested name generations, the game will not crash if it cannot find the name your item was. Your item will remain the same name, but you wont be able to get that name for different items.

As for features, they are basically described in the original pst. I cant go into much further detail than to list each individual new ite/name/dialogue, which wuld take a LONG time.Theres a lot of new stuff! :)

So if I have a character with equipped mod-items, I can import him to the later games without any issues? Or do I have to install the mod into those too THEN import my character?
Bakedtoast Oct 20, 2014 @ 6:20pm
There shouldbe no issues, because the "mod-items" are ripped straight from future games. nothing has been changed. Of course, only time will tell.
I'd recmmend, once the mod is out, try importing a charachter that you KNOW has at least one mod item (like an earring) and see what happens. of course, if it doesnt work, its as simple as making sure your character has no mod items or gems before importing.
Bojangles4th Oct 20, 2014 @ 6:21pm
Alright, thanks! And again, good luck with the mod!
Bakedtoast Oct 20, 2014 @ 6:30pm
Yeah, the mod basics are already down. Now it's only a matter of writing some more quest dialogue, Packing the mod up with installation instructions, and uploading to DropBox.
When I first made the mod, I would have had it up that day but dropbox fiddled out. So lets hope that works out.

Oh, and the name generations file. I got to find where that went off too.

Alright!
Bakedtoast Oct 31, 2014 @ 7:11pm
The mod is now online! Download it and be sure to report to me if something goes wrong!
Currently, everything listed in the original post is included in the mod!
