How do you get past the "dont look down" part?
I waited there motionless for a good time without looking down to press a button and nothing happened. That monster keeps eating me.

Good question! The monster dude only walks toward you when you look at specific places. So the longer you look at those places, the closer they'll get. if you limit the amount of time you spend looking at the buttons (as in, look quickly, press the right button and then immediately look away) you *should* have enough to get past it. if you still can't, let me know and Ill add in an easier option for that part (no shame in it!)

Ah thanks, I finished it finally...kinda feels like some weird google captcha typing AI game with all the "is this a picture of a blank" stuff lol, but pretty creepy none the less. GJ

i see, i was stuck on this too.
-- even with the help here, that was still way too tight.
( only just made it through, though the creature was within kill-distance. ).

i tried twice, once the creature was very near, other the creater was further away. Both times I lost when I finished the calibration. I'm stuck

You need to quickly press then look back up. If you just try to press them faster without lookin back up, it won't work.

Any video of your issue?

Hey! Spoiling because I had a similar issue, found out it was intentional:

After beating the monster by putting in the calibration it'll say calibration failed on the screen, however instead of restarting the game hit "Retry" on the main menu. This brings you to the second portion of the game, and then the ending when you complete it.

Hope this helps!

I died there so many times. I finally found a way how to win this part:

Every time you have to look down, make sure to carefully get into a position from where you can already see the button or get as close to it as possible. This will buy you the couple of seconds that you need to win. Make the way to the buttons as short as possible. It's barely enough but in the end it was enough.

Great demo, it was scary.

Echoing the feedback from others on this - the timing is still a touch too tight for me to squeeze through it even after a good few attempts. So close I can taste it sometimes, but always a fail. Surely not impossible and I'm sure I'll throw myself at it a few more times, but it may be better off a bit loosened.

Beyond that, couldn't be happier. Perfect atmosphere, great visuals and sound design both, and thrilled to follow as it keeps coming together!

Echoing this, I do think the timing is a bit too tight.
Testing-wise feedback: I thought there was a mechanic I was overlooking to make it retreat, then 'This is a demo, maybe this is a bug, or the way they ended the demo?', then wondered if I had screwed up something early enough in the game to make this impossible a la Zork, and on failure #5 I gave up and came here. I think the mechanic is fabulous (and I had a lot of time to appreciate that death screen which is lovely) but I feel the effect can still be achieved while helping us slow-mousers, to prevent us being sucked out of the moment with meta questions.

Id love an easier mode for this, I always die no matter what. A bit frustrating, I love the demo though!

Yeah i'm just gonna skip. Reaction based challenges are no fun when the game struggles to even reach 60 fps
