Beacon - How does it work

I renamed the beacon to base. But I still can't find my base. Does this thing even work? I was expecting it to show something on my screen. But there's nothing to indicating anything.

When you equip the beacon, right click and select 'show spawn point'. You can create one by building and interacting with a bed. You will then see an anvil icon guiding you back.

I see nothing telling me where it is. Hence my post. Didn't work in the tutorial, doesn't work here either.

Go to your bed and make the spawn point there. Then you can also ping your bed with the device

Hi there! equip the beacon compass then left click to place a beacon. When it is placed, press E and name it.
If you now equip the beacon compass right click and left click on the beacon that will now show up with the spawn points your compass crystall will point towards the beacon.

So place the beacon on points of interest and / or your bases or machines so you can find them.

If you are to far away from a Beacon or Spawn point it is so small that you can't really see it. But the pointer will point in the direction of the Beacon you selected by right clicking when the tool is in hand.
