I just started a new game in the new version and thought I would try them again and see if just iron and copper ingots would work with the wonky logic, but even then it didnt, it seems whatever you put in the first slot stays there.
At the moment I have one minecart per ore and bring them as close to my factory underground then conveyor them up, I havnt tried the new 3 way splitters on this but with the two way at least is Left Right Left Right split so same at the other end you get a level load.
But even the mine carts themselves wont mix ore so it will take 1 of the first ore if there is only one and wont use the other 99 spaces to fill elsewhere, which I suppose is understandable in its current format as the cart has one space and you cant mix spaces between products.
