I wonder if the game will collect data that will be used to coordinate a real pandemic response. I know that there are games which share data with actual scientists to solve real problems.

what does the "until" means? does it mean that they gonna take the DLC from us once COVID is under control, and we should pay for it? or that new players that comes after COVID will have to pay for it?

It means that those that didn't claim it before have to pay for it. Everyone who has already claimed it has it forever.

Matters of disease response are inherently tied into political matters. One cannot simply click a button and make things happen, particularly since effective measures often interfere with day-to-day life to some extent.

Further, given the current unfortunate state of post-truth politics, in which parties define themselves by relentless opposition to basic science, even the simplest questions are controversial topics. Ultimately, one just has to ignore certain idiots and move forwards.

Finally, there is no conceivable political stance so outrageous that there is no-one willing to unironically champion it.

Oh no. Now all of the conspiracy theorists are going to believe that every single game they play is going to steal all of their personal data and send it to China or Russia or some place.

No, I assume it means that you will need to pay for it after that period if you don't have it already. I don't think that Steam would allow a company to take something away from the players.

I actually wrote to the company that made Plague Inc that they should make
a game like this, and they actually DID IT!
