Which type did you think would be hardest...

But ended up the easiest? And vice-versa.

My easiest: Parasite. I managed to infect the entire world before they noticed ANYTHING! I thought the lack of points it talked about would make it really hard but there... wasn't any lack...

My hardest (so far, haven't beaten Necroa or Simian yet): Fungus. Either it didn't spread or I spent all my points to make it spread and couldn't make it lethal enough to out-race the cure.

Okay... my earlier vote was just invalidated. Fungus in the Ice Age scenario is brutal. I haven't done better than one biohazard on Casual, and can't even come close to winning on Normal because there. Just. Isn't. Enough. DNA. More likely, I'm spending it unwisely, but I'm at a loss. If I don't keep at least one spore eruption in reserve, Iceland, Greenland, Madagascar or the Caribbean doesn't get infected and I lose. If I do this, the rest of the world doesn't get infected quickly enough without costing me in lethality... and then I sit around with the world 100% infected and not feeling it at all while they happily work toward a cure.

Still struggling with Bio-Weapon in Golden Age... after taking a few months off from the game to avoid mental meltdowns. I CANNOT get more than two biohazards with this on any level above Casual. Anybody else had any luck?

My last post still holds; I don't even play Fungus or Parasite on scenarios any more. Not sure how the OP could say that Parasite was the easiest; maybe there's a strategy that I've missed completely there.

I was suprised by how easy I found simian to be. Even on mega-brutal, using the colonies as point batteries jsut came naturally to me.

The two I have the hardest time with are necroa and fungus. The efficient use of spore bursts still confuzzles me to this day. Necroa was just hard to get out of the mindet of the rest of the game and use the plaugue as the set-up instead of then end game. I eventually got zombie attacks down pretty well though.

Easiest = Parasite. Dig into people's brains and they don't even discover you when you start causing Total Organ Faliure.

Hardest (so far) = Necroa. I'm almost convinced that you can't win with this thing without grinding for certain genes. They figure out how to cure it too fast, and the zombies are too inefficient to kill without piling up the DNA which you never have because, you know, gotta get dem hoards.
Fungus rides close second. The thing about that thing is that it's just a simple matter of spamming infectivity like it's the plague.

So, I broke my rule referred to earlier, and tried Global Warming with Parasite again. I found a strategy for beating Parasite on Brutal, used it in the basic game on Normal, and got three biohazards. Then I used it in the Global Warming scenario, everything else the same, and only got one biohazard. Same results with the Ice Age scenario. Apparently, just using Parasite in a scenario knocks two biohazards off one's score; at least, that is the conclusion that my empirical research leads me to.

Edit: Not specific to Parasite; I'm seeing the same results with Prion, in both Global Warming and Ice Age scenarios.

Easiest: Nerax Worm/Parasite, it can spread super fast along with buying upgrades where people are less likely to notice the Plague spreading! As for Parasite, like you said itsssirtou, people are less likely to notice the Plague spreading around when you buy some certain upgrades!

Hardest: Shadow Plague/Simian Flu/Fungus

These 3 plagues I mentioned are a pain in the @$$! It takes Fungus a really long time to spread, Simian Flu can be tricky if you don't destroy the Research Labs and Shadow Plague is a mix of both... TRYING TO DESTROY TEMPLER BASES ALONG WITH RESEARCH LABS WHILE WAITING FOR THE PLAGUE TO SPREAD AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

currently the one i depise the most is fungus as imo to have a good chance of winning you need the abilty costs dont increase perk every other one i enjoy
