Unlock everything?

I heard that there are no microtransactions in this game. But is it true that you have to unlock ALL disease types by winning on normal?

I don't know about this, but you can cheat.. If you save a Bacteria game on Normal just before you win, you can reload that one again and again and unlock all the lesser genes. Then you have to win.. Was it Neurax worm? on Normal, save it just before you win, and get all those genes as well by reloading your savegame.

Oops, sorry, didn't read your question right... I don't know how to unlock diseases without earning them.

I could be wrong but I believe you unlock the next disease by beating the previous one on normal difficulty.

You unlock new plagues by winning with the previous one on Normal difficulty or higher. You unlock genes by winning on any difficulty (even casual). Do note that some genes are specific to certain plagues (Necroa, Simian Flu), so you have to replay it to unlock those specifically.
