What's the trick for getting dna-points?

Hi there,
I just bought the game. It was quite fun for the first couple of rounds. However I'm still stuck at the first level (bacteria or what ever that is). I play and evolve my little bacteria and every thing is fine, I also manage to invecte the whole word, but at some point I don't get anymore dna-points and what is annoying from that point on I can do nothing but watch that research-bar grow. Which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boring.

I mean I could live with being overwhemed by those scientists, but watching that bar crawl slowly from like 5% on while being unable to do ANYTHING is far from my definition of fun.

Now, am I doing anything wrong, or is there bug that stops me from gaining anymore points?
Is it meant that you only get a limited amount of points and do I have to spent my earlyer points in a differt way?

You get DNA points by poping Red & Orange bubble, & infecting/killing large quantities of people. You can't get DNA points if you stay fully infected or by poping blue bubble (without a genetic code). If your research bar goes up, buy genetic reshuffles, genetic hardenings &/or evolving lethal symptoms like Fever, Synthetic infection & Necrosis.

You get more DNA the higher your Severity is. And if you waste all your DNA before getting any Lethality, then yeah, you're screwed, as you should be. You generally want to save enough for Necrosis and Total Organ Failure.

Well, killing ppls (once / if ur disease is lethal enought) brings at this point the most DNA. To reach this point u must be smart, as the others said allready. Listen to them.

There seems to be a certain randomness to it. Supposedly, having more minor symptoms will give you bonuses. Well sometimes it will. Sometimes it doesn't. I've seen people dying by the millions per day, and my DNA points are going up 5 at a time. I've seen people dying by the millions per day, and my DNA points never go up a notch.

That randomness is to people don't run for necrosis and win by DNA points.

Get the trait that allows you to get DNA from research bubbles. This gives you the most DNA than any other trait in the game.

It's great for generating the most DNA late game, but my favorite for most plague types is ATP Boost for a faster start.

Stealth is the worst way to go if you're trying to generate the most DNA because you will get no bonus DNA from severity. It's practically impossible to go stealth on Mega Brutal and win because you won't be able to afford lethal symptoms due to the massively increased costs from Genetic Drift. Genetic Drift causes DNA costs to increase as the percentage of world infected increases.

It's nothing compared to how much more you'd get if you started with a few symptoms.

What do you do if red and orange bubbles aren't appearing?

Your DNA gains increase together with your Severity, so you want a balance between maximum severity to get good DNA and mininum severity so countries don't shut down everything instantly and start working super hard on the cure.

Start out with some transmissions, then get Rash, Sweating, Skin Lesions, Cysts, Abscesses and Coughing.
