Broken fungus
I would have to say fungus is rather broken. It doesn't cross imaginary borders even if it's perfectly suited for the neighboring country. If it's a hot or cold place and has a lvl. 2 tolerance to the respective country it won't cross the border. If it's an extreme bio aerosol it won't board a plane or ship but it'll randomly pop up on the other side of the world? Bacteria and viruses spread like wild fire as soon as they get even the slightest tolerance or ability to transmit. I've seen some people say fungus was too easy, so far that's not my experience. I've even infected all island countries and all land masses but lost because the disease killed all infected but the one or two countries in the middle of an entirely infected land mass. Which brings me to the conclusion that city cams and zombie viruses should be the least of the worries for the developer. That's just my opinion.

It's not broken, that's the nature of Fungus: "Fungal spores struggle to travel long distances without special effort." It's tough to spread even with Extreme Bio-Aerosol. This is where Spore Bursts/Eruptions come in handy and it's a joke if you have Patho-Stasis.

So what would be the point of using the same template for all dieases instead of developing a transmission for fungus? I can understand using it to reach a far off country or island nation you have no connection to. But a fungus spore on the fur of an animal or feathers of a bird or even in the air currents would carry over into a neighboring country. Yet they do not is the point of the post and using symptoms to spread a disease would still spread across an entire landmass if it is extremely infectious. But what you're saying is if I want it to spread faster and farther I need to invest in spore burst just to reach a neighboring country no matter how infectious it may be?

To make it more challenging I would assume, kind of like how there's also something unique that makes Nano-virus challenging. Anyway, there is an ability that's unlocked after both Spore Eruptions that allows you to spread well, as well as Bacteria and Virus at least. Don't bother with it unless you have Patho-Stasis.

Not really. You could win by not taking any symptoms and devolving any that randomly mutate and eventually spread to the entire world if you had the usual transmissions and resistances. However, this would take a very long time to do and it would be boring. A better way (for normal without Patho-Stasis) would be to start out with a few non-lethal symptoms, then the usual transmissions and then the usual resistainces. Then go for Necrosis and Total Organ Failure to get the deaths and infections rolling and infect the last countries with Spore Bursts and Eruptions, should be around a dozen uninfected countries at the most.

O.K. I'll just keep trying and eventually get it, I always do. I assume patho-stasis is a gene that's unlocked?

Thanks for the help. Seriously thanks because I decided to invest ppoints into the spore eruptions and it helped immesnsely. Now I understand the fungus.

No problem. Patho-Stasis is a gene that's unlocked and it makes it so that Ability DNA costs don't increase, which makes all Spore Bursts cost only 1 DNA each and Spore Eruptions only 2 DNA each (and the ultimate ability is only 5).

Because before I was just choosing spore bursts randomly never realizing that there was something more buried in there until you mentioned it.
