Plague with 100% infectivity not spreading
Hello fellow evil minds,

I have the following issue: I manage to infect all countries, but in some of them my plague just doesn't spread. The hosts there don't die, but they also don't infect anyone. This happens with an infectivity rate of 100% in our favourite countries - Canada and Iceland, but also in others depending on starting country. I also tried different plague types, resistances and transmissions and had the same issue...
Any ideas?

Yes, but the hosts just don't infect anyone and my plague doesn't spread :rcry:

What about the drug resistances? for fast infection of canada you need drug 1 and 2.
Transmissions also help. Using extreme zoonosis you infect countries absurdly fast.

I've tried everything but the zoonosis. I have unlocked the xerophile genes and the travel genes only (I'm a noob, I know). Thought it is strange that the plague doesn't spread, as I have never had this issue before. (I haven't played for a few weeks.) Guess I'll keep trying :deaths:
And thanks for the suggestions
In sparsely populated countries it's difficult to spread once the plague is known or well known

Another thing I've found awkward is when a country has been infected but all the infected are dead, it seems no-one ever gets re-infected by a neighbouring country (or other transmission vector). Doesn't happen often - but can be a game breaker when a country has say 4,000 people left uninfected and whilst still being open to some transmission vectors from neighbouring countries never get re-infected and you lose due to not wiping everyone out - that situation is pretty much game-over and restart I've found

Especially "throw-my-frikkin-phone-against-the-wall-inducing" on Fungus where you'd hope that using a spore burst would help kick start that in the only country remaining.. Grrrrr

What virus type are you playing? If playing Nano Virus, there's a signal being broadcast that prevents the spread of the virus.

"It was accidentally released from a science lab, and now humans are trying to shut it down by broadcasting a "kill-code" (functionally like the Cure) that will deactivate the virus."

-Code interception 1-2: Will make your nano-virus hack the cure broadcast and slow future broadcast.

-Radical elements 1-2: Will make your nano-virus isolate the kill switch and slow future broadcast.

-Replicator overload: Will make the nano-virus' replicator overload, significantly increasing infectivity for a short period.

-Broadcast overload: Will make the nano-virus immune against the broadcast for a short period.

-Drug Hardening: Will make the nano-virus completely immune against all medicines and drugs. NOTE: To get this ability, you must first evolve all Cure Resistance abilities.

If you aren't playing Nano Virus then try using Sneezing, Pneumonia and Sweating. Those symptoms help spread in cold countries.

I love the "zoonosis" combo. Not only does it infect extremely fast, it has the ability to cross continents and closed land borders.

Do bear in mind you need to make sure that your plague does not kill too fast, as silly as it sounds, I have lost games because the plague spread into a country and then killed people before it had the chance to infect more people. This is with cold resistance and drug resistance maxed out.

I've tried again using fungus and bacteria and now I don't have the same issue. I've probably missed some transmission/resistances in my games earlier today, as now my plague is spreading as it should.
I just got past the fungus, so I have barely any plagues unocked. I do like to try new things and was surprised when I got to 100% infectivity with no spread at all in some countries in a few games with fungus and bacteria.

Zoonosis sounds so good, can't wait to unlock it :trainbowbarf:

Thanks very much for the suggestions guys/girls! Love to see that the Plague Inc: Evolved community is so nice :tlove:

I had the situations where my plague kills all its hosts in some countries, it's just... yeah. I even had situations where I managed to re-infect people and they still died out too fast. Guess, this keeps you playing and trying out new things :)

Need Necrosis really if you going lethal before 100% infected.

I usually only have African countries slow to infect the population. Even with Air 2, Heat 2, Blood and Insect 2 and what ever else helps there that I am forgetting.

You forgot the animal vectors they still help infection rate along with cough sneezes etc.

I always have bird 2 at minimum. I will only get the others if I need a boost that what I usually get doesnt cover.
