Infecting Canada, Iceland, Greenland

Why is it so difficult to spread infection in these 3 countries (Canada, Iceland, Greenland)? Even with cold resist, pneumonia, air/water travel and sweating, they take forever to increase past like 100 infected. Almost every game I play (not counting the other annoying islands) these are the 3 countries that make me lose the game. I have every other country in the world fully infected but these ones are just sitting there with only a handful of infected. Which of course causes the cure to be complete before I can infect them or I make my disease lethal and it kills these few infected before the disease spreads. Most of the disease types this isn't a problem because I can make the disease go undetected until even these 3 are fully infected, but, not possible on nano-virus. And even these ability to infect faster temporarily barely does anything. Anyone have any tips or ideas?

Just infect Russia or Norway, evolve 1-2 levels of cold resistance, and water transmissions and you’re good to go for infecting greenland

New Guinea was actually easier to infect then Madagascar. And yeah Greenland is really hard to infect.

No, or only if you start in New Zealand.
Madgascar is given by Australia, South Africa, and another central country (Saudia Arabia or Egypt), whereas New Guinea is only given by Australia and New Zealand. So New Guinea is harder.

Not sure it will help noobs.
If they start in Saudi Arabia, or in an urban country, and don't consider their start setting penalties, they may not evolve what they need to spread in Russia. And then, they can stay 10 years hidden, they won't infect Greenland more.

staying hidden works for most diseases on casual and normal but if you're on brutal or mega brutal you really need the severity i advise getting sweating, rash and skin lesions then water, cold, and drugs for Canada. (also on mega brutal staying hidden for a long time is impossible thanks to random blood checks and genetic drift preventing you from getting enough dna for your symptoms without severity)

One: Greenland and Iceland have low populations
Two: Canada is a Rich Country like the US and Australia and Japan, meaning it'll be hard to infect

and 3: Greenland/Iceland are both Island countries, no one in the game really vists them that much (Have fun trying to infect Greenland)

Start in a cold country and you have some intrinsic cold adaptation. At least that's what the game tells you.

one of the islands can ONLY be infected by a SINGLE boat. If that boat isnt running because the host country is closed off, game is lost. I think its greenland and one of the north euro countries.

Madagascar is in the same situation, except I think you MAY be able to bird that one too, if lucky?? It can be wise to START in one of these two if you want a high score on time taken.

No island has only 1 connexion.
Greenland has hot 2 (Norway and Russia)

Madagascar cannot be taken by birds like UK or Indonesia.
But it's easier to take by boat, as it is strongly connected with South Africa, Saudi Arabia and Australia.

It can be wise to START in one of these two if you want a high score on time taken.

It's not wise at all to start in Greenland or Madagascar, as they are very isolated from many parts of the world. And Madagascar is poor and rural moreover.
The best place to start in solo is Saudi Arabia, then fix correctly and on time your start setting penalties not to miss Greenland (what most of noobs don't consider seriously enough, that is why they lose in Greenland).

Yeah, you don't need to start in Greenland to get Greenland. If it troubles you that much, start in Iceland. You'd have to be very unlucky to not get Greenland, plus Iceland has many more connections due in part to its airport.
