I do not understand how to win this game

I have beaten PC version twice with normal difficulty. Both times everyone was infected and I eventually killed everyone.
Still, the game doesn't tell me I have "won", it simply says that my virus has died out (obviously as there are no people left in world)

I still has only bacteria unlocked.

you need to spread the plague to every country, in the world indecator, it tells you how many have been affected, and it also tells you when you have affected everyone,when there are no healthy people left, that is when you should make the plague start killing everyone, if there are people left alive when all the carriers are dead, you have failed, so basiclly, remain undetected and remain harmless until you are ready, devolve your symptoms if needed, if the game is telling you your killing people too fast, do the above, once you infected everyone, then strike with everything you have.

Did a message appear saying ''There are no healthy people left in the world''? If it didn't, people are hiding somewhere...Click onto the background of the map and onto that button down the bottom, it will show you where is infected and not (If you click on one of the countries to the bottomleft now it will show you on the map where it is!) so you can find it easier, if everywhere is infected, but the message didn't appear, it's just a matter of waiting.

if you find it easy, then wait until you get the nano virus and the bioweapon, and try it on normal or above, not so easy, still some types are very easy to do, while others are a real nightmare.

I consider the game won when I infect all three countries.

Bacteria on Brutal is a real nasty pain for me, Nano Virus though was easy (though might be because I got lucky with random events had a few lab escapes etc)

Just go totally symptomless (devolve if mutated) untill everyone are infected, then just evolve to kill everything. I found this strategy ridiculosly easy for everything untill Nano Virus. :D

They find your disease on a random checkup rather early
