More than once I had infected almost everyone but NZers died like flies and then suddenly the country was "healthy" again.
You can infect the entire world before it is even discovered. Save up points then when it is everywhere ramp up the lethality all in one go.
By the time they catch it its too late and it kills so fast they cant get a cure found in time.
Low profile is the way to go if you want high infection/distribution. Also fungus plagues makes those hard to get island not a problem. Wait for them to be the last hold outs and then use your spore cloud on them.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Greenland man, swear to god, this country has on its own ruined many a playthrough for me.
This does not work in scenarios, because your score takes the time taken to finish into account (well it works if you just want to finish and don't care about getting a decent score). It's a great strategy to unlock all the plagues (and for new players), but it stops there, it's not the "end" strategy that works all the time. Especially on Brutal for plagues like Virus where devolving can start to cost a ton of points really soon.
Yes, this game is much better at transmitting diseases. Birds, insects and such are not miraculously stopped by closed land borders as in Pandemic, and diseases can even hop short straits of water. Madagascar is no longer over-reactive and slamming its borders shut due to a mere stubbed toe!
A lot of people have problems with Greenland and Iceland, but that's more about strategy (ensure your disease transmits swiftly without too much harm, and evolve cold survival early). The BIG benefit of this game is that you can start in any country you like, so if you do keep finding Greenland a problem, then start there instead.
