Please fix the map. Alaska is NOT part of Canada...

Please make Alaska part of the USA as it is. I hate that I can't infect my own country when I click on my home state. It says that i'm infecting Canada. Please fix this!

Also Alaska has sea/air traffic in and out of it to russia, china, etc that is not actually shown properly on the game, I'd like that to be rectified as well.

Thanks for your thoughts. Including Alaska as part of USA would have been very complicated in terms of gameplay. The gameplay mechanics would mean that if you infect the USA then Alaska would get infected as well, which makes little sense.

Therefore, we took the decision to add in the Hay-Herbert treaty, which gives a reason why Alaska is part of Canada (in the game only).

So this was done purely for gameplay reasons. Absolutely no offence is meant here, I hope you understand :)

Why did you not have it as a seperate country? It makes sense once you consider it.

It makes as much sense as having individual Europe countrys.

I suppose it would make the game harder as it is if they added more countries and therefore more possible closed borders.

Missing countries in Europe:

Portugal
Ireland
Belgium
Netherlands
Denmark
Austria
Switzerland

Many countries are combined to new "countries" such as:
Central Europe
Baltic States
Balkan States

You can see that even better in Africa.
If you had to infect all 54 countries of Africa individually it would make the game very hard on brutal, especially when some countries close their borders.

Keep in mind as this started as a phone app programming in that level of complexity would have been a failure to launch.

I'm an American and this actually makes sense, although it might have made more sense to make Alaska it's own entity altogether for the purposes of gameplay. If there was a virus spreading in the US, unless air and sea travel transferred it, it would make no sense for the virus to spread to Hawaii or Alaska.

Ah, so many people who actually know so little about what part Alaska plays in the contiguous United States, Canada and bucket full of countries that ship/fly/drive through canada to Alaska. As well as the Trans-Alaska pipeline that goes from northern Alaska to Valdez, where it is not passed through Canada at any time but is shipped to other places in the United States.

I am over it, I love the game and I play it. I was just asking and making a suggestion. I wasn't throwing a fit as some people seem to think. Yes I'm disappointed they can't make it more realistic to my area of the world but hey, it's a game. All is good.
