Best countries to start in?

My plague called "The Booty" started in the UK and went pretty well but I am really bad at this game so other times it didn't work at all.

i go china first. (1.4bill people). then it spreads to india (1.3bill) Russia (1bill), half way to your total in not many countrys

China and India are very popular starting countries due to their massive populations :)

Also just wanted to point out that Russia doesn't have 1bn, its ~160m. Still a good country to start in though!

Never knew the developer of Plague Inc had a steam account, have to ask though, what was the point of making a steam account if you don't use it to buy games and such?

There is much more to do with a Steam account than just buy games. You need one to upload games, interact with the community, test your games, etc.

I like to start in Egypt. It has 2 harbors and 1 airfield, and as i understand it, you get a bonus for your starting location's environment so hot and arid is a good thing.

I don't see why starting in high population countries like India or China is such a good thing...
It doesn't matter a country have a pop of 1 mill, 50 mill, 500 mill or 1 bill. The true challenge is to infect ALL countries. I don't see how quickly infecting 3 billions people in the same area help that much. DNA bonus overtime drop from world population infected regardless of countries ? Or does it drop from infecting more and more people in different countries ?
China and India don't help much for Europe, Africa or Greenland... and in every game wherever you start Asia is rarely a problem.

So I tend to prefer Saudi Arabia for the worldwide airport or Russia for fast access to Greenland.

There is much more to do with a Steam account than just buy games. You need one to upload games, interact with the community, test your games, etc.

I personally use it to chat with friends, buy games. And that's it, of course i ain't a developer.

I often start in Brasil, because it's easy to infect and nerby countrys also get infected very quickly. Also its not to hard to get to the other continent's.

India and saudi arabia is my two favorite starting countries. When I play bacteria, virus, parasite, prion, and neurax worm, I start in india. When I play necroa and fungus, I start in saudi arabia because you can still infect planes in saudi arabia even when you use fungus or when you use animal transmission on necroa virus. Simian flu, I start in central africa because there is a ton of apes there.
