In terms of how hard it would be: how would you hide your actions from one another (unless it supported multimonitor, at which point it would be a trend-setter); and how would you handle inputs (multi-mouse cross-platform is really irritating and I don't know if Unity even supports it).
If you're hoping for local co-op, you're not alone ... local co-op (working together) would be awesome, even if it just boils down to two plagues handled by the same system.
Edit: to clarify, splitscreen would leave the world in a weird place and would suddenly require scrolling and a bunch of other aesthetics to be handled.
This was never something we planned on unfortunately. As Swixel says, there are lots of complications and it would require an entirely different UI
Well then put a laptop beside the pc. So now you want controller support beside the local coop? How should the bubbles be poped etc.? Just demanding without any second thought.
Lets scroll to today's world. Everyone now has their own device. Sure there are families that cannot afford a device per kid, but then why target those families with a product, they have no money. Developers have their own kids to feed and bills to pay.
The majority of people nowadays own or have been provided with their own personal device. With Plague on PC (linux/mac/m$), Phones, Tablets, and hopefully sometime in the future Android TV.
Makes for split screen to be an obsolete feature. As everyone has their own device to play with.
Rather than, asking for obsolete features, and free games. Perhaps you and your brother should figure out how to make some money, and purchase a second device to play plague on. If you cannot afford plague, and have to beg for a free version.
Your problem is not with the game. Your problem is financial.
