Save File Question
So my friend (who also owns Plague Inc: Evolved) has sent me his completed Achievements.ini & stats.ini files so I can use his completed profile. For some reason though, in the game folder there is no place for those files.

Is there a way I can use these?

Thanks,
~Sen

Thank you, but where would I put the two files?

Addendum: I also found it at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<My User ID>\246620\remote

Addendum 2: I hear since the removal of the 3DMGame folder, the profile stats are now stored server-side. Is there still a way to edit our profile/stats, etc.?

You should have one in Appdata- if not, I'm not sure why.

Mind putting the contents of these files here? :steamhappy:

No point. The NDemic Devs (I hope they're looking at this(+) have removed I believe every way to alter or save files. So basically, unless they update the game so we can, everything is stored server-side with them, so we have no choice but to do it legit (which, frankly, I don't like so much.) I hope they'll give us the choice to have local access to the files so we can edit them.

So, they still did not update this? I'm playing on a Mac and just have found the steam folder with some .dat files that might be the save game. But when I download a save from somewhere else and try to launch the game, it remains with all my stats and genres before.

I believe they've fulled moved save data to their side. I believe those .dat files are just core files. To my knowledge, there's no further way to edit save data (Sadly.)

I'm pretty sure it's simple Steam statistics (simple 0/1 int32_t values stored by Steam).

edit: I'm not suggesting anyone actually edit these, I'm just pointing it out.

I'm not sure. I'd stay away from them for now, you might inadvertantly break your game.

I’m having the same problem and when I look it up all it comes up with are tutorials on the game

We store the save data on our end now to prevent sharing or misuse of save files.

Apologies for any inconvenience :)

Thanks!

Why not make it so we can have a sandbox mode then? Like, a startup parameter that just says "start with 100%" so we cheaters can get everything? :P

so what are you going to do when you shut down your servers? are you going to enable local saves again or is this game doomed like many others in the past?

Same thing is gonna happen when steam bites the dust... all your games will be doomed. Game devs don't actually care about their product in the long run anymore. It's all about quick profit in the short term. As long as it makes them retirement money later they will be happy. That's the sad fact of DRM. This is why I encourage people to buy games DRM free from sites other than steam lol.
