Defeating Z-Com
I use the Necro virus or whatever it's called and when zombies come into play they show up and lock everything down. 2/3 of the world's population are infected, Europe usually doesn't get infected for the most part and I throw everything at Z-Com and Europe, I can to stop them before they expand. I keep losing with 20-30 million left uninfected. Any ideas? Infection rate is high by the way.

you might want to invest in drug resistance and cold resistance if europe is giving you problems.

Did that, there is always 2-3 that seem to hold out against infection, then they arrive just before the floods of zombies from Russia, Western Europe and Africa.

aye that happened to me in a number of playthroughs even when i had to force many loadings to avoid the mutation problem so i can try and get it further uninfected(sucks the refund DNA isnt on this one) but i actually managed to infect enough that only canada was left moslty uninfected as they created Z-Com the idea is to have some of the reanimation ability hit pause then use it several times on the country z-com exists in while the other nations drop like flies and when they start to run out of the living invest in hording at least once to speed it up till the uninfected countries are left also make sure to infest in alot of the symptons to improve the zombies namely in combat

Speaking of refunding DNA, if you devolve the disease, aren't you supposed to get refunded instead of charged.

Make sure you also have the symptom below the actual zombie activator gene or whatever it is called, because it bumps up your lethality against z-com

Try to get as many zombies to overwhelm Z-Com bases. If you can get huge hoardes of them to attack a Z-Com base you should be able to destroy it. Also try to use zombies from countries that are close to the base, saves on travelling time as well, just in case they fly off to set up a new base.
Invest mainly into Transmissions, and Abilities. In Transmissions I usually get whatever there is unless it increases chances of mutation. Then over in Abilities I get some drug resistence, and some genetic hardening as well as heat resistance and cold resistance.

Just keep boosting up your plague's survivability and contagiousness (I don't know if that's a real word, if it is then I probably spelled it wrong) until you pretty much have a majority of the countries infected, it's okay if one or two of them are still healthy since for Necroa Virus you can send hordes of zombies to whatever country you like.

KEEP IN MIND, you want to stay away from Symptoms COMPLETELY, the ONLY time you should be going into that tab is to delete a symptom that may have randomly mutated.

Pretty soon, when you have a large stock pile of DNA points (From infecting all those countries) and have a very nice and decent sized population of infected, then you start delving into symptoms. Hopefully you should have enough points to get straight to 'Cytopathic Reanimation', the zombie symptom. Once you buy that you gotta get some Zombie abilities, I would say that the reanimation and travelling hordes are musts, this will be VERY useful later on for countries that have z com bases, or are just holding off really well.

Somewhere along the line once you have zombies, a Z-Com base will be established. Most likely in fairly healthy country, this makes it harder to over take. Have no fear, for if you bought the travelling zombies ability and the reanimation you just wait until you have a decent amount of spare points, then spam the country that has Z-Com set up. Eventually if you get enough zombies in there, they will do the work for you and you no longer have to use your active abilities, if the population of zoms is big enough then they will kill enough people and THOSE people will become zombies.

SIDE NOTE: Somewhere along the way you should definitely start investing points into your zombie's combat abilities in the Symptoms tab, it will help a lot.

Now you just keep a tab on how all the countries are going, those that are fully infected with a decent amount of zombies you wouldnt need to worry about. The countries you want to attack are ones with Zcom bases, still have healthy people, or in some cases, a country will have no zombies because they all died off. For these zombieless countries, just re-animate a couple of the dead people or send hordes to attack the infected.

Little hint that I learned along the way: a few tough zombies beat massive hordes of weaklings. Don't bother too much with getting huge horde upgrades at the expense of tough zombies (i.e. High Severity zombies) and try to get Combo symptoms if you can (like Spitter and Tank).

Also, if you can, try to attack them after they've sent a plane somewhere else, because that's when they'll be at their most vulnerable. Still, sometimes none of this might help. Leave ZCOM alone for too long and they pretty much become invincible and even hordes of really tough zombies won't do any good. Which is kind of BS. :squirtmeh:

Check out my necroa videos, the one starting from Zimbabwe (meant as a challenge) covers a lot of different situations regarding ZCom. The basic idea is to target populated countries during the plague phase as they are a pain to deal with if ZCom settle there. And to leave open the others, easier to take out. Good luck.

This. When I try weak swarms I don't get far. Saving up dna then getting zombies and upgrading their combat ability immediately makes them wipe countries so much faster and thus you get new DNA points faster, then use the DNA to get swarm movement boost and wipe the floor with your super zombie horde.
