necroa virus way too hard
i cant get the necroa virus to actual be succesful and im on normal cause what happens is the cure gets found way to soon but im still having to try and get my virus into countries (normally colder one even with cold resistance 2) so i cant start converting dead as i have no points to get that with since im focused on infecting places basically making it impossible

Necroa is a difficulty spike as it is all about incredibly aggressive playstyle. The disease WILL get cured quite early, so priority is not to try and infect every country, but at least have the virus spread accross the world and have enough point so you have enough strong zombies for world dominations.

To get a good start with the best odds it is most important to start with Darwinist and get Zoonotic shift going. Rat1, Bird1. Air1, Air2 and lastly segmented genome.

This should cause the Necroa to mutate like crazy and quickly spread. By the time they get close to curing you should be close to kick of the zombie apocalypse with plenty of dna to make them quite dangerous. at which point it is all about abilities to spread around and overwhelm humanity.

Don't waste (much) dna on resistances and such. zombies don't care much about climate or medicine...

The key to victory are hordes. Up to millions of strong hordes that you send to non infected (or protected) countries.
Anyway .. i managed 1 time to kill the world without zombies (archivement), but its realy not easy compared to a zombie victory.
Unless you are going for the "Not Another Zombie Game" achievement, stealth strategy is not a good idea. It's really expensive to keep devolving symptoms.

A hidden aspect of Necroa is that it has a passive effect called "Forced Mutation", which greatly increases the chance of mutation if you don't have any symptoms. This effect can be nullified if you evolve Genetic Reshuffle 2, but unless you are going for that achievement(which btw also relies on a specific event occurring due to how low the cure requirement is otherwise), you should just let it mutate and go aggressive.

Strategy for "Not Another Zombie Game":
  1. Cytochrome Surge, Creationist, Aerocyte, [Any Environment Gene], [Any/No Zombie Gene]
  2. Start in India and evolve Saliva 1 and Zoonotic Shift ASAP, followed by Bat 1
  3. If India is fully infected and the event "Rabid colony of bats" does not appear in list of the news headers on the top right, then event failed to occur and you need to try again. If the event occurs, then evolve Drug Resist 1, followed by either Drug Resist 2(if you can afford it) or Genetic Hardening.
  4. When a symptom mutates, you must devolve it immediately, then evolve Genetic Reshuffle 1 and 2 ASAP. This will greatly reduce the likelyhood of mutation, but mutations will still occur occasionally, since the next part can take a long time.
  5. You must wait for 2 news headers to appear; "Rabies eradication initiative" and "Film about rabies". These can appear randomly at any time after "Rabid colony of bats", but typically will take several in-game years to both occur.
  6. Once both occur, you must evolve Insomnia, Fever, Photophobia, Coma, Acute Encephalitis and Hyper Salivation. It is best to wait until either Insomnia or Hyper Salivation mutate on their own before doing this. If the entire world is infected this will cost at least 50 DNA.
  7. If you have done everything correctly, at some point during the cure, usually quite early on, an event pop up will indicate that scientists believe that Necroa is a form of rabies. This will cause the the cure to never reach 100% unless the link to rabies is proven false.
  8. To avoid the link to rabies being proven false, do not allow any more severity than what you already have until most governments collapse. Since you can't evolve any more severity or lethality, it is essentially just a waiting game at this point. You likely won't even be killing fast enough to get bonus DNA, so really you'll just be relying on orange bubbles if and when you need DNA.

Infect 1/4 to 1/3 of the world population and evolve the salivation symptom all the way down to the zombie symptom. That will allow the zombies to spread the virus way easier for you and you can start to control them in the abilities tab. I would go for a horde II, reanimation with ambush, as well as weather conditioning because your zombies to decay and die on their own. Reanimate dead countries, send them to fight Z-Com,

Yeah tried this and still no go after like 6 attempts. Will get to the last country and just can not kill it off.

I did it first try on mega brutal by starting centrally in the world and focusing transmission. Also have enough points on hand to go down the actual zombie branch quite a bit at 90%-100% cure, then focus on combat advantage. Make sure to hit the z-com facilities hard and fast. Everything else can be dealt with by sending massive hordes to ravage uninfected countries.

This strategy worked for me, though I did let cannibalism evolve very late, but by then most everyone was dead so research stalled despite "Rabies link 'false'" issue.

well, yeah it's hard in Normal, because the cure is way to fast, and you barely win any DNA points so it makes the game harder
