Fake News - Last 5 Achievements - THANK YOU EVERYONE! LOCK POST!

Hi All,

I've played a bit with the new add-on and done most of the new achievements. These last 5 elude me. So I am posting these here, in case anyone else has got them. I will also post my thoughts on each one. Will update with any outcomes! :D

Hack Job: Convince the world that the elections were rigged
-This one you start in USA I am guessing?
- I saw something about a man saying his speech is the best ever (Donald Trump?)
- Pick something to do with "Journalists vs World Leader" ?
- Not sure what else to do

Gamergate: Please don't review bomb us
-No idea on this one.

Generational tension: Convince the world. Divide the world.
- I am guessing it has to do with what you pick "Young vs Old people"
- Not sure on anything else

District 9 (Convince the world that the newcomers don't belong)
Start: South Africa
Immigration Fake News
Started by - Racists
Motivation - Financial Gain
Blaming - Aliens
(This is based on the District 9 movie.) -- THANK YOU ERRISE!!

Loch Ness Monster: Convince the world of a legend in the loch
-Start location is United Kingdom
-Need to pick something to do with Stories / History and have people agree to it?

Hopefully a guide will be put out soon enough, but thought some people may already be doing these new achievements.

So far, I've got:

We love fact checkers (Get Fact Checked) - Just lose/let Fact Checking rise to 100%.
On the fence (Tear the world in two with indecision) - Have both Deceived and Informed at 40%+
Filter bubble and Post-truth society(Beat the Fake News Scnario on Normal/Brutal) - Both for beating the game on Brutal. (Nothing popped on Normal.)

District 9 (Convince the world that the newcomers don't belong)
Start: South Africa
Immigration Fake News
Started by - Racists
Motivation - Financial Gain
Blaming - Aliens
(This is based on the District 9 movie.)

Making 'heat' waves (Convince the world there is no environment crisis)
Start: USA
Climate Fake News
Started by - Big Business
Motivation - Financial Gain
Blaming - Scientists
(Based on the above, I would guess that Climate Fake News and Blaming Scientists are the important bits of this)

Too cute to lie (Convince the world it's not feline fine)

(no combo pop-up)

I've been guessing that if

[type] Fake News Combo.
The manifesto for [disease] is really resonating with some sections of society. Virality/Plausibility/Community increases.

pops up without an achievement, it's not a correct combo.

I also try to play a bit around with "Celebrity fake news" for the loch ness achievement but couldn't find the right combination yet.

I tried as well the loch ness with celebrity and historical, started by world leader for fame, but to no avail.

Regarding Gamergate: The icon has the male and female symbols on it and the last "review bomb news" regarding gamergate was "Total war" in which the community downvotes the game because of female generals.

That could mean we have to do something like "men troll women" or something in that direction.

Generational tension could involve "elderly vs children" when we look again at the icon. I tried some combinations and avoided the internet path on every tree. Still nothing.

Hack job: I am not sure if the root is politicians, white collor (hacker?) or something else. But we can be sure that the fake news is poltical.

Maybe we should post our combinations and work systematic from here on out.

Edit : Here are my first thoughts, I think it has to be cultural as the description says "tends to harm cultures targeted and divide communities". But as there are elderly, students and children, it could be elderly versus either (or the reverse).

That's just the icon for the GamerGate movement, and the "don't review bomb us" is just because that's what these children do when they feel offended: they use every tool they have to harrass and damage whoever their target is. And when you're selling a game on Steam, that tool is usually review bombing to hell. It's not exclusive to Total War.

and I got nothing. But then again, one of the "reshuffle" options in the Adaptability tab switched the Started by to ""White Collar", and another changed the Target to "Women" (which, this being Gamergate, probably should still apply for the achievement). So maybe that screwed it up a bit.

That's a good idea outside the box, but in this case I don't think it works : The achievements description differs through the objectives. But as far as we know, all the combo achievements starts with "convince the world". The only problem is that we have to find the combo based on ... a lot of possibilities.

Fake news combination achievements are awarded when Fake News Combo pops up as Errise pointed it out. You don't have to win the scenario or divide people by 50:50 to get achievements with "Convince the world ~" description.

From the things I've read so far, Generational tension could either be started/blamed on scientists or journalists. We might also have to figure out whether it's elderly vs young adults or children. The motivation part also isn't clear regarding the choices we have in game.

Is it me or is the "Filter bubble" achievement bugged? I haven't gotten it despite clearing the scenario twice.

It is, you have to complete the game in Brutal to unlock both.
