First off, a photo of North Korea soldier using masks right behind the great fearless leader himself. Why do this if they are indeed truly "covid-19 free"?

Secondly, the timeline allows for 4 weeks of unmitigated border crossing. That fact alone on it's own make it very questionable that North Korea are even able to claim they manage to avoid a single covid-19 case.

Thirdly, North Korea have been making a lot of diplomatic move that normally indicate they want more from the international community; say more relief from sanctions or as a negotation tactic. This is also happening at the same time when they won't admit they actually have more than at least one covid-19 case.

Fourthly, If North Korea indeed doesn't have a single case of covid-19. Why are they begging for test kit and other medical essentials? Preparing to stockpile? I sincerely doubt the official story since multiple North Korea experts and doctor defectors all allude to a huge shortage of simple medical supplies for non-pandemic related medical issues. So in short, North Korea asking for medical supplies is a clear sign that thing aren't 'OKAY'.


Lot of this can be best described in lay man terms as the phrase "Where there is smoke, there is a fire". Can I directly provide there is a covid-19 case? Probability not directly and it is even more difficult to prove given they just recently kicked 'all foreigner diplomats' the other day out no question asked. To me, there is enough behavior evidence to indicate that they are in real trouble.

That is not what the article says about Ebola... Obviously there was no Ebola infection in Asia area as most of the community spread was limited in Africa thankfully. I never said that North Korea had Ebola infection at any point... I have no idea how you came to that conclusion.

SARS is a lot similar and closer to what is happening now with covid-19. With a critical key difference, SARS started community spread very slow. The first community spread started I believe in 2003 February and North Korea started closing border in April 2003 which is two months later. Given the slower community spread nature of SARS it is unlikely that the virus made it into North Korea.

Now what makes covid-19 stands out is that we are barely two month in the pandemic and we already have seen more confirm death/case than SARS did in 5-6 months. We would have to wait for confirmation because North Korea as you have mentioned multiple time have closed virtually all travel in/out and enforce a 30 day quarantine period.


Even if in a hypothetical scenario, I am in a position of authority to go into North Korea and determine if coronavirus did or not impact them. It would take a month from now to get word back out or longer.

At least during the SARS outbreak they had some people coming in/out on a weekly basis (weekly flight to and from a nearby Russia village). There is none right now which make it even harder to get first or second hand confirmation. What you asking for, proof, is impossible and you know it.

because we dont have proof we can only speculate, so not you or me are right, only north korean know, so personally i prefer to wait 2 independent source to confirm or not if they are infected or not, preferably one from china and another from north korea like when they tested their missile and nuclear bomb when north korea and usa army confirm if their missile test were sucessfull or a fail
