What's the point in winning the Shadow Plague scenario?
I mean, if all the people are dead, what would vampires eat?
Edit: talking about that winning condition where everyone dies.

Probably something else. Maybe apes or something. Would be a shame if they got infected with Simian Flu in turn, though. Planet of the Vampire Apes, anyone?

On a more serious note, just like with Simian Flu and Neurax Worm, exterminating humanity is only one way among several to win the scenario. You could also simply enslave humanity by developing the Shadow Slaves symptom and infecting every human on Earth. That way, they would live but serve the vampires.

Yeah, that makes sense. But that one ending where everyone dies shouldn't be considered as a win since vampires will die of starvation soon after.
It's kind of like real life where in the long run the Sun expands and envelops the Earth. All known life will die and there will be no one and nothing to remember anything Humans ever did. It's why I drink so much. There is literally no point to anything.

I rarely bother buying lethal symptoms for Shadow Plague, since any country that gets wiped out is no longer safe for vampires to camp in (yes, they will begin to starve). And I believe in Shadow scenario, corpses cannot spread the plague. It's quicker and easier to just dominate everyone instead of killing them.

A hybrid game that included both vampires and zombies would be fun... too bad the engine's not set up for that.

Then what's the point of your drinking?

This is probably the reason why you're not expected to win by killing everyone.

The real question is, what about all the other plagues that wipe out humanity and now have no more hosts, rendering them extinct?

it is a win, the vampires have a disease, maybe the virus doesnt care if they live.
