Yes. It's worth it. You should get it.
If you're here because you saw it on sale and for some reason you don't have it yet ... It'd be a lot cooler if you did. Like turn based strategy? Got it. Conquer and resource management games? Got it. Multiplayer? Unlocks? Trophies? Active updates and responsive developement teams? There's basically no reason not to own this game for this price. I wasn't paid to say this or anything. I just tend to measure games by how much you're going to get out of them. Play time per dollar, it's just too worth it.

I remember that the Planet of The Apes Simian Virus was a payable add on. Is it free now? If not, how much is it?

What if I played this game on mobile 3 years ago without paying for micro transactions? Is it different? Has the game changed since?

I got it and I'm keeping it, but as a new player that's familiar with strategy games, I have these criticisms:

- Why the ''tap to get points'' mechanic? This isn't some kind of browser-based F2P clicker. In the case of initial infection I can almost justify it, because it's a way of showing you what countries you're infecting. But the random points? Just add them passively if you're going to.

- What is it with the random points? How random are they? What triggers them to appear? I have to know these things in order to plan things ahead. Game design 101, make sure the rules of the game are clear to the player.

- Not enough information on exactly how much of an effect evolutions have. Is it 10% extra infectivity in arid climates? Is it 50%? Again, tell the player what's going on so they can learn how to play with skill and planning. Same for things such as DNA costs. The first time, I didn't know if costs increase passively with time or by spending them, or both. Which led to an uncertain and frustrating first impression.

Very fun game. The developers add in new news items to the ticker tape in game which is fun and sometimes new achievements appear that relate to current events, like the Brexit one. It has a good sense of humour for a game with some dark subject matter :D

Yup, I just wanted to know the math behind DNA points. Seems like a crucial part of the game is left unexplained.

I like the idea that the random bubbles are in place to distract you while you are deploying your strategy. Obviously in single-player it's not much of a distraction (with pauses), but in multi-player it really throws you off your train of thought when the game enters chaos mode.

Especailly when you first make the switch and find that the evoloutions are laid out differently.

Exactly. Though me and a friend have already started yelling "PAAAUSEE!" whenever we get like 50 DNA in a single second.

All in all, game is really fun. Bought it 2 days ago and was amazed at all the new plagues (last time playing it was mobile years ago). Are there any news about more plagues of the zombie/ape/vampire variations?

Don't forget Custom Scenarios! The game has an excellent modding tool and an active modding community that creates new scenarios on a regular basis.
