Windows 10 compatibility fixes?
So I had previously had TotD:O installed on my Win 8.1 OS and everything ran (sorta) smooth. I had to upgrade to Win 10 so I'd be familiar with it in IT, and now the game will not launch at all. I saw a thread that stated a "blank screen" issue but the game actually won't launch. Instant crash on start-up. Even after fiddling about with the compatibility settings nothing is working.

Should I just give up and run a Win 8 Virtual Machine? Any advice would be very welcome.

Running this on a laptop with a integrated Intel HD graphics and a dedicated NVIDIA 840m card.

Today I got the game in the sale. Also running Windows 10 and it wouldn't start. Black screen after starting. After reading some other topics here there was an tip setting the game to use the integrated videocard.

In the NVIDIA Configuration screen you have the option called "Manage 3D settings". You have 2 Tabs, select the Programs settings tab. Select the game and choose the graphics processor.

Hope this helps you. Goodluck!

This worked perfectly! Thanks a ton!

The list shows in order of the file names themselves. Did you look for Typing of the Dead or "hotd_ng.exe"

Both. No luck. Could the fact that I installed the game on an external Steam library be part of the issue?

This could be the leading cause in the issue. Would you mind reintalling and reporting back?

Same here, only works with Intel :angry_creep:

Edit: Enabled Window mode, now the Intel Driver crashes when I open the game, it manages to recover but the window stays broken :(

Edit2: Window Mode works with NVIDIA GPU, but not with Borderless Gaming, after disabling Windows Mode you also need to change to Intel GPU again....

gave it a shot. Now I get locked into a black screen upon start up. Only way to get out is to force shut down my pc.

Were you able to Alt-Tab out of it? It does the same on my end. I just Alt-Tab out and back in and everything runs smoothly.

What OS are you running? Are you able to alt-tab in and out of it? Are you running it in compatibility mode as well?
