Bug Report (Arboreal Bounty)

I am unable to pinpoint why or when this happens but it has ruined numerous runs for myself and a friend who plays this game. For whatever reason the game will just give Arboreal Bounty essence without actually selecting it. I find this usually only happens when there are only a few essences left to choose from. The first few times it happened, I assumed it was because I mindlessly clicked it. However, after attempting many turn 1,000 no animal runs, I begun to absolutely avoid that essence. So, it is extremely unlikely that I would have accidentally selected into it as many times as I have.

I really like this game but in its current state I think I have gotten max enjoyment until future patches. Having a near perfect run ruined by Arboreal Bounty being forced on me early puts a very bitter taste in this otherwise gem of a game.

In case you want to know why I find this particular issue frustrating its because I am making giant checkerboard with trees to boost the adjacent sunflowers, to boost the genetic battery. However once Arboreal Bounty is selected, The checkerboard is unable to be finished and the run is totally ruined. I am aware of the integer overflow cheese being a way to finish the turn 1,000 no animal achievement but I refuse to use a strategy that gives me negative numbers and is clearly an unintentional interaction.

Had same issue, after recent updates nothing has changed. I did always skip perks at this time and I had it anyway... It's frustrating.

I believe the accidental essence-pick happens when you click onto the same spot where Card and Essence overlap in the UI. It can happen once every 60 days, but yeah I do agree it's quite an annoying issue. For me, it's easier to avoid by only ever clicking onto the bottom of the cards when picking cards.

As for the Vegan III achievement, I have about 100 hours into the game but even in my best attempt this morning, I couldn't get past Day 960. I mean, there are only 40 days left, so I would only need to do the tax-evasion exploit 4 times if I want. But then again, if I'm exploiting the game, I might as well use the Grape-Tree combo instead.
(And yes, that combo is literally the only known way to get the achievement legitimately as far as I'm aware)

Oh and the negative overflow issue is addressed in the latest update and should be fixed at this point. It's more of a symptom when the game wasn't able to handle big numbers, and not a cheese in itself.
