i think the early game needs a re balance to be more engaging, over an hour in and zero fun honestly
We did made the first 2 maps (Valeria and Troutneck ) easy to allow new players to get a hang of it.
Also at the start of the game porbles have low HP and 1 skill so it won't be mega hard from the start
* Skill books need to show the strength of the taught spell before you teach it, right now its impossible to know if a skill is better or worse than the currently known spell, so you dont know if you should teach it.
- When I start the game the mouse works but nothing else.
- I unplug and re plug my controller and it will then work (most times, sometimes I need to restart).
- Many of the UI elements I can't get to unless I use a mouse (Porble traits, item descriptions).
- I have yet to figure out how to use the keyboard to move the character (space bar jump seems to work).
- On the controller I can only use the Dpad to move, but the thumb stick will change the character facing direction. (I have default layout).
I think the game natural lends itself to the controller, but since I can't seem to figure out how to navigate to certain UI elements I need to use the mouse. I'm kinda stuck with a quasi-Controller / Mouse setup that is awkward.
Hi there
Keyboard
If you go to the settings, you have a mapping of all the keys for the game if using the keyboard controls
Controller
By pressing start, you should be able to access all of the menus (inventory, log, porbles)
and move around them with either directional keys or the stick. When tabs are present LB and RB (or equivalent will allow you to swap between said tabs.
In terms of moving around the stick should let you move not just face a direction.
Does this happen with any of sticks (left and right)
Definitely good ideas we discussed before. I will bring them back to the table
I found the issue! My mouse (Roccat Tyon Black) was being seen as a controller. I disabled the YInput HID object for my mouse and everything is working much better: https://linustechtips.com/topic/592131-xbox-one-controller-not-working-with-certain-games-in-steam/
This was an issue for several of my other games as well. For other experiencing issues maybe they have keyboards / mice being seen as a controller
OH..... that could be useful. we will look into this and see if we can find a way of avoiding that detection by default as well
Mainly because if we ever want to do a version for other systems we will need to cover multiple resolutions without the bars
Our artist has a wide screen and he reminds us of it multiple times per week lol
The one the elder unlocks so we can access their secret garden. But I just launched the game now and looks like it reverts me back to the portal, which is nice. This can be ignored now.
