VR mode
I only played the first game because of the VR mod.
I`m not going back to flatscreen to play this.
Please give us an official VR mode or work with the developer of the mod.

tormented souls 2 is made with unreal engine 5, so expect praydog to release a super high quality vr mod with hand traking and so on

Yes, It is great that we will soon have a way to play almost all UE games in VR thanks to Praydog.

But, my question for the developer is why can`t they give us a native VR mode ?
Why do we have to rely on mods when a VR mode can be implemented easily by enabling a few plugins ?

that ain't no easy thing to do tho. also it's better to respect the devs view on the "soul" of the game. tormented souls isn't meant to be first person, and an easy example is the horror factor of knowing an enemy is in the same room, in front of you but you don't know how far it is because of the camera angle. in first person you can clearly see him so there's no horror factor in that. creating a vr game mode for a flat screen game would mean thinking about those things too

I understand your points.
I would say you are overthinking it.
There is no need to put the game in 1st person.
It is a common misconception that VR needs to be 1st person or even works best that way.

Just think of a VR headset as a way of simulating being surrounded by a massive curved monitor filling your entire field of view but with the added depth/sense of scale that comes with a stereoscopic view,
Just this "visual upgrade" over playing on a flat screen makes any game WAY more intense and compelling.

i believe you can already do that tho, i remember doing that with another game in the past using steam vr home or something like that. do some search online and you should achieve that with steam vr alone, no need to use third party software. also my bad, i assumed you were talking about first person, since vr is usually used to be first person

Yes, you can use steam cinema mode or a program like Virtual Desktop to display your desktop view projected onto a virtual screen in VR. But this is still just a 2D screen within a 3D space.
What I am talking about is the game rendering two camera views (one for each eye) offset by the IPD (distance between your eyes) so you perceive the game world with the correct depth and scale. You feel like you are inside the game world as opposed to looking at it through a window.

This video should make it clearer how 3rd person works in VR.

Unfortunately the mod is not working with the current version of the game. I have not found a way to rollback the game to the earlier version on steam either. Maybe the mod author will update the mod.
