[bug]Game crashing on launch
Hey guys, I've just bought this game, but every time I try to run it it just crashes after seconds, without having loaded more than an empty window.

I tried to update my drivers, launch the game in different resolutions, windowed or not, reboot, check game cache, all the usual, nothing works.

Anyone ?

I'm running on windows 7 64bit, nothing special about my computer, I'm using 2 screens if it may make a difference.

Sounds serious, let's hope the devs see this! I guess you could try taking the other screen out of the equation, but that shouldn't really matter. Does the game remain active in the "processes" tab even after it closes?

Ps. Same OS here and two screens too, runs fine in both windowed and full screen.

Basicaly it opens a white windows, like any "new" window, that instead of then displaying something ... just closes itself, and the process with it. (Without any error message or anything, that's the anoying part ...)

Hi we are looking into this issue, but we need your help to solve it.

If possible we would need you to send us the Unity log for the game, to see why it is crashing.

On Windows

Open Steam
Go to your steam library
Open the Kingdom Rush game Properties
Go to the LOCAL FILES tab
Click the "BROWSE LOCAL FILES" and it should open the windows file explorer
Inside the windows explorer window go into the "Kingdom Rush_Data" folder
Mail the file output_log.txt file to developer@ironhidegames.com

On Mac

Open the "Console.app" application
On the left panel, search and open "~/Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log"
Then copy the log content and mail it to developer@ironhidegames.com

Having this information would help us a lot to see what is the problem and how to fix it.
If there is any problem following these instructions please ask for help and we can solve it with you.

Thanks for your help, and we are sorry about this problem.

Okay I don't know why but after a few hours I tried to relaunch the game, dunno if it was updated, but this time it ran some other directX install, and it seems to be working properly ...

Well, thanks anyway :D, wether you made a change or not (I think so but sometimes steam acts in a weird way, but I was obviously missing some directX stuff here)

I was having the same problem. Dug into that file mentioned by the devs a few posts ago and it turns out it was the steam overlay that was causing it to crash. Disabled the steam community overlay dealie and now it fires right up. I'm on a Surface Pro 2 256/8 for the record.

Yes, It was us :) we fixed it...there is no need to download a patch, just to reinstall the game because some external dlls where missing.
