We first released Kingdom Rush on Armorgames and Kongregate in 2011.
We released the Steam version on 2014 with all heroes unlocked, better graphics and no in-app purchases.
You don't have to buy the Steam version if you don't want to... but it is different from the free flash version you can play in those web based game portals.
Cheers!
Will the other Kingdom Rush games make it to Steam?
I posted this on a Thread related to your question (http://steamcommunity.com/app/246420/discussions/0/613940477916114811/#p10)
Here's where we are at right now:
- Map editors are not in the pipeline. We would have to change our way of making games (less taylor made, hand drawn levels)... and create new user interfaces and menus for map creation, which is currently not possible. Specially for our old games.
- Frontiers on Steam is looking good. Still a few things to decide here and there, but we should have a definitive answer in a couple of months.
- A Steam version for Origins will depend on a lot of things that are currently unknown. So we prefer to be cautious about it.
- Our next game (Iron Marines) should have a Steam version a few months after the mobile release (unless something horrible happens).
- A Kingdom Rush 4 (title pending) is going to be released by the end of this year or early 2017 and will also have a Steam version released shortly after the mobile release.
- And... we have a third small project that is nothing like our previous games and is absolutely going to be released on Steam.
Those are some awesome questions your responding to. The person who asked them must have been a right Geezer.
I thought you said in a later post, that you guys had decided to bring Origins to Steam..?
