Nightfang Swale Iron Veteran
I'm playing through the game again because of the update. I am absolutely clueless about how to do this level. I watched about 20 videos of people doing this level and nothing I try works.

I realized that something in the game has changed, and it seems that the game has become very difficult. Today (07/16), the game was updated and I didn't even see what changed, but I will test it.
The patch did not address NS.
The latest patch must surely have changed something. I tried Nightfang Swale's both heroic and iron challenges on veteran and couldn't complete either. While playing the heroic challenge I couldn't even finish the first wave despite having achieved all stars from all levels on veteran already. I looked other people's strategies for the levels on YouTube and even after replicating them step by step, my outcome didn't match theirs. I doubt this is user error at this point.

I haven't played since the new update, so I don't know what might have changed in that. However, if you haven't played the game recently, the real change came a while back, when they released a new version (not just a minor update). The main reason for the new version was changing the game to use a newer game engine, to make future maintenance easier, but they also added a couple of new achievements, and "activated" the Sunray tower on one map (the tower could be used in other versions, but it didn't work in the old Steam version). You can read a bit more about the new version in the Beta forum section (the current version was originally available as a beta version).

But they apparently also "tweaked" some towers and/or enemies, and at least some parts of the game are a lot harder now.

FYI, if you prefer the old version, I think I read that you can still get it by going into the game Properties in Steam and choosing to install the "Legacy" version.

If you read just a little it will save you from wasting your time.

This is how I bet Nightfang Swale Iron on Veteran yesterday:
Use Malik, dont move him in the beginnig leave him on finishing line.
Build Tesla Coil in upper left spot, close to finishing line and add 2 points to overcharged. Build Mage Tower underneath and upgrade to level 2.
Start Game and place Reinforcements directly underneath Malik).
Enemy wave will come, If you are lucky, Malik should level up to level 3 without dieing, if he is going to die, move him back and for (don't let him die, use Meteor if needed, but xp is more important).
Level Mage tower to Golem tower.
Next level Malik at that crossroad, of the 2 right sided spawning points. Let him level with Wolfs / hounds up tol lvl 4 or close to level 4.
Move him back to start position when next werewolf wave is coming.
For this wave use meteor if needed (or for safety).
Build 1st golem, close to finish line, move Malik in front of him.
Build Tesla Coil (no upgrades) on right arm, top right at finish line.
Build Next Golem (magic to golem) tower on first spot on right arm directly at finishing line. Wait for first big wave of werewolf pack, use meteor and build 2nd Golem.

Now its micro time.

Update Coils, first overcharged on both, next supercharged bolt, overcharged is more important, use supercharged if you have money left. BUT don't let golems & Malik die. Move Malik back and for on low hp. Upgrade golems close on low hp.
Use Meteor on last big wave.

Reinforcements should be always placed as soon as possible!

Thats it.

Thank you, it worked :-) I tried that challenge for hours before...

Thanks, it worked! After two days of trying different strategies, always being defeated by the last wave of Lycans, with this you posted I was immediately successful. Only difference was that I used Oni as hero and I put him permanently at the crossroad going to the finish line.
For real.... this Level is only solvable with luck. To the DEVs... you don't test your Levels before player?
The Difficulty of this 'added' Levels like this is absolute not balanced and kill all the fun in the game.
This is, why I don't buy the rest of Parts of this former absolute fantastic Tower Defense Game.
I played both on KR 5.6.12, and they were both easy. Iron Veteran, the default hero. I played Nightfang Swale with max stars, and the other one with most.

Nightfang Swale was easy: I put 2 teslas at the tips (left and right) of the start, and max out Overcharge (what is Supercharged bolt for? Is it only for big crowds? I have no idea what it does). In the gaps I put Sorcerers with elementals for crowd control. There was maybe one rain of fire that was really important (right after you get the first sorcerer).

My first 2 Teslas were the same as in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8UjVCHIgqs

Afterwards it was all Sorcerers.
I've tried this a bunch of times and I think veteran is near impossible. Got it first time on the medium difficulty with tesla -> golem -> golem -> tesla -> golem. On veteran they just have too much health to not be overwhelmed at the end if not before. Since the teslas have a big range of damage they can hit, it might be possible if you hit god rng of consistently getting near 120 damage every hit at the end, but I really don't like to grind rng in a strategy game.. + it's random if Yngvar survives or not who's probably the best hero for this one.
