Nightfang Swale Iron Veteran
I'm playing through the game again because of the update. I am absolutely clueless about how to do this level. I watched about 20 videos of people doing this level and nothing I try works.

I haven't played the new version, so I can't offer much in the way of suggestions, but the topic below has links to videos for most of the levels and modes, including one for Iron mode on Nightfang Swale on Hard difficulty (which was replaced by Veteran).

That's where I normally point people having problems with a specific level/mode. However, now that the game has been updated, some of those old strategies may not work anymore. I don't know if Hard difficulty was simply renamed to Veteran, or if the difficulty was actually changed (increased) in some way. And the new version of the game may have other differences (tweaks to enemy HP, tower damage, etc.). Some things may just require new strategies. If so, all I can say is "Good luck".

I did 130/130 years ago when I first played through. I'm not sure exactly what is different, but I can't find any way to do this level now. Too bad I can't bring in Alric from KR Frontiers lol

Yeah, I think the old Ironfang Swale strats don't work, I've been trying to do them with this level and they fail at roughly the same point. Going to try it with lower difficulty levels and see if that gives me any ideas for Veteran here.

I think maybe the Lycans got more regeneration in the update and that is what is causing it. I honestly didn't remember having any trouble with this level last time, I think I did it first try just spamming Tesla towers and afk Elora.

Yeah, I decided to go back and try it, and haven't been able to do it. I got 3 stars on everything years ago, and I guess that was at "normal" difficulty (I don't think that they had added the difficulty option at that point). Now I can't even complete Iron mode on Nightfang Swale on Casual.

Something definitely seems to have changed. I don't know if it's enemy buffs, or tower nerfs, or something else. I wonder if the developers have actually tried Iron mode on this level in the updated game. Given that I can't even complete it on Casual, it honestly doesn't seem possible on Veteran. It's not like you have a lot of tower choices.

lycans had slower attack speed (1.5 sec) on the old version. Now, they attack faster (1.0 sec) as on mobile version.

I just managed to do it on Casual and I think Normal might be doable with some really intense micro and perfect timing. My closest run had one leak that probably could have been caught if I'd upgraded the right earth elemental. No idea how this would be doable with Iron though. The werewolves are hell to hold when they start mobbing.

Yeah, wasted whole day yesterday trying to pass it on 'normal' difficulty and i almost smashed my monitor to bits out of frustration. I now gave it a go on 'easy' difficulty and it's impossible to beat as well. Honestly, couldn't see any difference between those two difficulties while micromanaging everything in the exact same manner. End up having three teslas in the main choke and a mage tower with elemental on the left so it helps guarding from werewolves. At this point I get overpowered and a few mobs get through and there's only so much i can do with 0 cash, a hero and 4 crappy peasants. Beat the game a few years ago on veteran on an ipad and now i'm annoyed because i love the series and wanted to punch in all the achievements on steam! :D

Yeah it's broken same as Twin River Pass (Iron) and, just like Twin River Pass (Iron) I think it might -just- be beatable with a perfect strategy and some luck. I came very close this morning, and the new bonkers version of TWP (Iron) seemed much less beatable at first.

I haven't even rally micro or kiting yet. I'll update later if I'm able to get it...

no i did all the twin river pass levels so that one isnt broken
BigSilverHotdog May 23, 2020 @ 2:44am
Oh it's broken too, trust me. I've beat the game at least 10 or 15 times and TRP was changed in the latest patch similar to how NS was changed.

Neither one are similar to pre-patch version, and both are similarly 'almost impossible'.

edit: Review with hours played:

Did you not read my post? I said "almost impossible" -- I beat TWP iron too, even though it's broken, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to beat the version of NS Iron we're discussing here, even though it's also broken.

Just because you can beat the level doesn't mean it isn't broken...

edit: Yes, it is possible, and I think NS Iron is possible too. That doesn't mean it's working as intended...

This is how I bet Nightfang Swale Iron on Veteran yesterday:
Use Malik, dont move him in the beginnig leave him on finishing line.
Build Tesla Coil in upper left spot, close to finishing line and add 2 points to overcharged. Build Mage Tower underneath and upgrade to level 2.
Start Game and place Reinforcements directly underneath Malik).
Enemy wave will come, If you are lucky, Malik should level up to level 3 without dieing, if he is going to die, move him back and for (don't let him die, use Meteor if needed, but xp is more important).
Level Mage tower to Golem tower.
Next level Malik at that crossroad, of the 2 right sided spawning points. Let him level with Wolfs / hounds up tol lvl 4 or close to level 4.
Move him back to start position when next werewolf wave is coming.
For this wave use meteor if needed (or for safety).
Build 1st golem, close to finish line, move Malik in front of him.
Build Tesla Coil (no upgrades) on right arm, top right at finish line.
Build Next Golem (magic to golem) tower on first spot on right arm directly at finishing line. Wait for first big wave of werewolf pack, use meteor and build 2nd Golem.

Now its micro time.

Update Coils, first overcharged on both, next supercharged bolt, overcharged is more important, use supercharged if you have money left. BUT don't let golems & Malik die. Move Malik back and for on low hp. Upgrade golems close on low hp.
Use Meteor on last big wave.

Reinforcements should be always placed as soon as possible!

Thats it.
