That's where I normally point people having problems with a specific level/mode. However, now that the game has been updated, some of those old strategies may not work anymore. I don't know if Hard difficulty was simply renamed to Veteran, or if the difficulty was actually changed (increased) in some way. And the new version of the game may have other differences (tweaks to enemy HP, tower damage, etc.). Some things may just require new strategies. If so, all I can say is "Good luck".
Something definitely seems to have changed. I don't know if it's enemy buffs, or tower nerfs, or something else. I wonder if the developers have actually tried Iron mode on this level in the updated game. Given that I can't even complete it on Casual, it honestly doesn't seem possible on Veteran. It's not like you have a lot of tower choices.
I haven't even rally micro or kiting yet. I'll update later if I'm able to get it...
Neither one are similar to pre-patch version, and both are similarly 'almost impossible'.
edit: Review with hours played:

not saying it isnt changed or harder, but it is possible
Just because you can beat the level doesn't mean it isn't broken...
edit: Yes, it is possible, and I think NS Iron is possible too. That doesn't mean it's working as intended...
Use Malik, dont move him in the beginnig leave him on finishing line.
Build Tesla Coil in upper left spot, close to finishing line and add 2 points to overcharged. Build Mage Tower underneath and upgrade to level 2.
Start Game and place Reinforcements directly underneath Malik).
Enemy wave will come, If you are lucky, Malik should level up to level 3 without dieing, if he is going to die, move him back and for (don't let him die, use Meteor if needed, but xp is more important).
Level Mage tower to Golem tower.
Next level Malik at that crossroad, of the 2 right sided spawning points. Let him level with Wolfs / hounds up tol lvl 4 or close to level 4.
Move him back to start position when next werewolf wave is coming.
For this wave use meteor if needed (or for safety).
Build 1st golem, close to finish line, move Malik in front of him.
Build Tesla Coil (no upgrades) on right arm, top right at finish line.
Build Next Golem (magic to golem) tower on first spot on right arm directly at finishing line. Wait for first big wave of werewolf pack, use meteor and build 2nd Golem.
Now its micro time.
Update Coils, first overcharged on both, next supercharged bolt, overcharged is more important, use supercharged if you have money left. BUT don't let golems & Malik die. Move Malik back and for on low hp. Upgrade golems close on low hp.
Use Meteor on last big wave.
Reinforcements should be always placed as soon as possible!
Thats it.
