But there is one thing that still bothers me so much... I spend like hours looking for GFB without any luck, was the bear already implemented to game at the point the project died?
I really have to know that
A completely randomized world: Never play the same game twice.
Fully-integrated crafting system: Your spells and 'armor sets' are created with the things you find in the world...and the things you take from those within it.
A beautiful and rich world to explore: Nekro will have a host of unique tilesets and locations. From the burning hells to the ravaged lands of the east there will always be a new place to go, and as always, all of them are randomly generated. The game will put a big emphasis on exploration and discovery. The world is teeming with things to find and enemies to conquer.
Unique creature-based gameplay: Your summons will do your bidding but are not under your direct control. Each creature you create will have a set of behaviors unique to it. It's up to you to find the best combination of creatures to use for each situation. However, the nekro himself isn't powerless. If all else fails, you can always run intro the fray; transforming into a powerful demon and lay waste to your enemies.
World changing events: Each faction of the game (the nekro, the humans and the neutrals) gets their own world events that happen at random and can drastically effect the outcome of a fight. The nekro casts the world into Eternal Darkness, boosting his power. The neutrals summon The Werewolves of the Full Moon, spawning deadly werewolves across the land. And the humans call upon The Crusaders of the King, sending out extremely powerful templars to hunt monsters.
The achievements in question are Cold Fire and Priest Pounder.
Not saying I was ripped off or anything like that, just dissapointed in it and in the devs.
So many people here with no sense of tact or social intelligence.
I think these days people are just looking for an excuse to vent their anger, hate and dissatisfaction with life.
Unfortunately in this case, the target is Nekro and Klegran in this thread.
promises were made and then broken kick start/ early access
Information is being censored manipulated and deleted on media controlled by him i.e. this forum and others
who is at fault him.his partner,or both we do not know but there is definitely grounds for anger and distrust
if you want evidence read his partners profile for his side of the story or a few articles by independent sources
Or: We genuinely wanted to make an awesome game. We raised capital money as every single game has done since the beginning of video games, worked our asses off to make it, and realized it simply wasn't making any money after trying our very best to bring it to solvency. In an effort to try to save the project, the two key developers had different ideas for how to spend the small amount of remaining funds but couldn't agree and simply decided to move on to other projects after realizing it was a futile effort.
I'll give you a hint: it's the second.
We broke promises because we had no other choice. If you are told to build an military grade airplane with a budget of $25 you would break promises too. The whole plan was that the game would make enough money to keep working on the game. We put every cent we made (which wasn't a lot) back into the game. That's why it had updates that came out every few months for years.
My business partner got mad and lashed out. It wasn't professional. It wasn't productive. It didn't accomplish anything. He did it because he was (rightfully) angry that the project he put so much work it didn't sell. He borrowed a lot of money from his friends and family and wasn't able to pay them back. He wanted blood. He wanted a scapegoat. Blaming the user base would result in massive backlash so he blamed the next easiest and closest thing to him: me.
But you notice he posted one single thing then nothing ever again? He didn't go and do a circuit of interviews about the project to 3rd party sites. He didn't post in forums. He didn't write a blog. He never showed back up here to say another word (he's not blocked). He completely disappeared. It's because he was mad at the world. Not because he had been wronged by me. Sure, we made choices the other person didn't like. But we didn't ♥♥♥♥ each other over. We didn't steal money or do anything weird or illegal. We both just tried to make an awesome game and the game didn't make us money back. That's it. We're both professional game devs, we do this for our jobs. We're not hobbiests. We've seen many of our own projects fail. This one just happened to be a bit closer to home because it was our baby.
I can point to countless professional AAA and indie games that have gone through these exact same issues. They make a game, it doesn't sell, and they take the game down. Having worked in this industry I can tell you there's internal drama each time this happens: no one likes seeing their work wasted. Sometimes that drama is made public. Sometimes it's kept behind closed doors.
But that's it. It was an unfortunate situation filled with individuals who wanted to make back the money and work they had put in. I am one of those people, my partner was one of those people. But there is no deeper conspiracy here. No bigger motive.
all we have to go on is what is out there on the web and that is not enough to say who is telling the truth
people are upset and saddened that this game will not be finish
take that as a complement to your game
you will catch most of their displeasure being the one that they can still complain to
