Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II

Raised blacks in HDR mode on PC/console.
A bit disappointing to see raised blacks on both my PC version and console version of Hellblade II. It's most easily noticeable in the black bars on a 16:9 monitor, and it's a bit distracting on an OLED monitor. If you turn HDR off, the bars turn fully black. Any chance of a fix for this?

I was having the exact same issue, then I disabled "Windows Auto HDR" and update my graphics card for the newest drivers. Not sure which one did it, but now it works!

I had the latest Nvidia drivers and don't use Windows Auto HDR. So that was not the issue for me. I was able to switch my OLED monitor (MSI MPG 321URX) to HDR400 for the game, as only HDR1000 was experiencing the issue. I beat it, and now switched back to HDR1000.
I found the problem.

1- Open the game, set HDR Gamma to 50 & use the Brightest setting.
2- If you've HDR enabled in Windows disable it while in the game alt tabbed.

Voila! Perfect blacks! Windows HDR was raising black and making the game look dull! I have a Samsung G9 Neo so I was really surprised about it. I even talked about it in the stream. After the stream, I wanted to test some things and it was the culprit.

I have the xbox version as well.

On LG C1 I was able to fix it by opening Game Optimiser and setting Black Stabiliser to 9 (was 10).

The bars are now pixels off as expected. Hope this helps :lunar2019piginablanket:
