Buyer beware
This is a 5 hours game with mostly cutscenes and some small interactions. The entire screen has the double black bars meaning you will see it a lower resolution. It's kind of like The Evil Within....wich needed a mod to make it full screen.
While the "product" looks nice, has some gameplay and a nice lenght for a movie.... it's clearly designed for gamepass or another service that has a subscription fee.
Absolutley no reason to charge 50 euros for it, the fair price would have been 20 euros.

I remember Steam used to sell movies, i am not sure if they do but i remember their prices being at 20 euros or less.
It would cost me about 10 euros to go watch a movie so i don't see any reason to pay 50 euros for a 5 hour movie.

It is artistic, it is creepy and mysterious but your wallet needs more than that to justify a big purchase.

It is not a AAA game, it's a AAA animation movie.
This game would fit the DEMO tag very well, to me it seems like a tech demo for some new engine but they even failed that since the performance is bad and needs a nasa computer

Thanks for the unnecessary wall of text

'Designed for Gamepass' yes because this is the first game to be around 6 hours isnt it.
There are tons of AA and Indie games this length and less, hell even some AAA games. In fact in the 360/ps3 gen this length was pretty standard.
Its also not a full price game so. Its also a sequel to a game so people already know what they are getting into.
Thanks for your 'concern' though.

Performance is bad?
7 hours straight I never experienced any performance issues—no stuttering, not even a single crash, and I don't have a NASA computer. :asciiterror:

thats because thats what Gen Z & Millennials want. They dont want games. They want interactive movies like Last of Us, Metal Gear Solid 4 & Detroit Become Human with a dash of D.I.E. Where 2/3s of the "game" is literally just watching a movie. They want digital only goods. 130$ digital games, bug burger patties and not owning anything, just consume and rent.

First: There is no such thing as a AA game. AAA have to do with financing, f.ex. games that generated additional revenue over time.

Second: Not a full price game? $53.32 is smack bang right there

You kidding?? I love watching movies at home. I can watch movie on my own time. Wearing nothing at all. Eating what I want. Pausing when I need to pause. Serene.

In contrast, at a movie cinema/theater, I would have to drive there, stand next to smelly people, sit next to smelly people, listen to people fartting or burping while watching the movie. OH MY Gosh. It is GROSS. No thanks.

You don't even own the game.

Metal Gear Solid 4? A 15 year old game? Gen Z doesn't want to own it?

You've been on Steam for 15 years, all your games are digital so what are you even talking about?

Perfect.
It means i can finish it over a handful of evenings and then get back to enjoying other games.

This is a narrative experience. It doesn't need to be bloated. Its designed to deliver an engaging and emotional experience and so far it's succeeding.

It's also perfect for Game pass. I rarely subscribe but a game of this length is perfect for that.

Uhm. The Evil Within doesn't need a mod. You can literally turn it off in their settings tab. Wtf lol. You clearly never played that game. I literally beat it a month ago on Xbox Game Pass.

Movie comparisons have no merit. I’d pay infinitely more for an interactive, engaging experience where I have direct input over the entire experience and outcome and can replay for a different experience (in most cases, but not really here). It beats the hell out of staring at a screen lifelessly and seeing the exact same things, in the exact same sequences and the exact same camera angles and scenes every time you watch it. More engagement, more input and more interactivity = much more value in my opinion.

Games are too long nowadays. People don't feel happy if they play less than 100 hours. Of course, being short is a huge flaw in games like Tomb Raider 7 Legend, which should be about exploration and we can play fully in 2 hours. But it definitely is not the case of Hellblade, a game about cinematics, so being less than 10 hours long is not a flaw here.

BUT... I agree that the price is salty.

Just proves everytime that those lowbrain "gamers" never played part 1.

you clearly had to wait for it to be on game pass to play it. The Evil Within came out almost 10 years ago. this WAS a problem that needed a mod to fix. as well as a 25 fps "cinematic experience" cap
