How short is this game?
It's 22 dollars on my region. For comparison Dragons dogma was 60, Ghost of Tsushima is 60. Helldivers is 40.
Which leads me to think that the gameplay is very short?
Haven't played the 1st one btw.

First one is roughly 5 or so hours and I heard it's about the same length or shorter. Don't know if that's true but if it is then I'll be fairly disappointed

the first one took me 10h to 100% it but it was a great experience

I'm assuming it'll be 8-15 hours.

First one took me like 11 hours to play through fully, really taking my time when I wanted. Was a great experience I’d of easily paid even more for. Quality > Quantity.

I’d guess Hellblade 2 will also be in the 8-15 hour range.

Its aslong as you want it to be. I've clocked over 330 hours in the first game, but I was also speedrunning it.

Walking simulator with two-button combat in between is neither quality nor quantity.

I can understand your dislike if you went through the first thinking there were only two buttons for combat. You wouldn't be the first either, watched a really painful playthrough where someone hadn't figured out how to parry nor how to interrupt. Hope they tutorialise this one a bit better for those who never check what the controls are.

----

Original was 7 hours for me, both going through initially and then a second run to pick up an achievement I'd missed. Not a long game but it felt the right length for the story being told and the limits of the design philosophy they use.

I'm ok if a game is 6-7 hrs, like the first was.
The first was also sold for 30 euros. Not 50.
And no, the facts this is "top notch graphic" game means nothing: the first one was also one of the best visual experience of its time (it sill is tbh).

That's why I am reluctant in buying it d1.

(and no, I refuse to play it on pass, to me that service is just promoting laziness tbh).

You have 51 minutes in the first game. You should stay quiet

I played it on Console and got it extremely cheap on Steam to try it with my PC.

Then you would know that combat is not the main selling point of the first game. The story in itself is the main selling point of the first game combined with the psychosis and puzzles.
If you dont enjoy these types of games then maybe you should play something like DOOM where combat is the main part of the game.

Clearly the first game was not for you. Why would the second one be? Why are you here? lol. Sorry to be rude, but why are you complaining about the game here?
