Before I buy question
I am really looking forward to this sequel but I have to know...

Did they step in any DEI?

EDIT: Early review leaks on the 21st indicate that the game is a faithful sequel without DEI.

This is a Microsoft game and they are rely on high DEI scores, as Blackrock and Vanguard are the two biggest share holders.

Both Blackrock and Vanguard have listed DEI criterias for support.
Microsoft is also partners with various DEI consulting companies, such as Sweet Baby Inc.

The big question is, why it might be an issue for you? in my experience, its more show than actual inclusion into their mediums.. They uphold an image as "look we comply" but they break alot of DEI standards (including gambling in games)

Do you want to read about Microsofts DEI reports?
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/diversity/inside-microsoft/annual-report#global-strategy,-local-implementation

(its important to note, that Ninja Theory is a subsidiary of Xbox Game Studios and they are in return a division under Microsoft)

The point here is, that if you want to avoid DEI impact, you would need to find studios that are not relient on Blackrock and Vanguard.

wait for reviews or play less than 2 hours to be able to refund. i doubt they will ♥♥♥♥ Hellblade with rotten ideology, but i wont rule it out 100%....its the sad reality of our world.

It's already an inclusive game from the beginning. A strong female lead in proper attire and it's about mental health. DEI is not always bad, only when it's blatantly crammed in. This game is an example of diversity done right from the ground up, not something rewritten to accommodate DEI and not something shoved in your face.

Agree if this is what he meant with DEI then its never been more worthwhile.
While if u are thinking about silly stuffed down the throat kind of DEI, then i feel like u can always wait for review or refund, but i doubt it these kind of things will be in HB2

Is Forced Diversity something I personally want?
No

Is Forced Diversity something that will decrease the artistic quality of games?
It possibly could

Is Forced Diversity something that will ruin games?
No, I don't think so

Does being stoutly and vocally against Forced Diversity online make you seem like a well-balanced individual?
guess

I love the original Senua Saga and am looking forward to its sequel.

But, over the last few years, I have become paranoid about DEI involvement in the industry. I approve of the general push for Diversity, Equality and Inclusivity in video games but unfortunately have yet to see a game released with these attributes that actually performed “well”.

The only consistent result from DEI consultants I have witnessed is the repeated degradation in narrative storytelling that negatively impacts my enjoyment as a customer - I apologize if anyone is offended by my intentions to be informed prior to purchase.

Obsession with race is an illness my friend. You can just play the games that look good to you and avoid the ones that don't. However that would require you to give up the hatred you cling onto so tightly.

Race has nothing to do with it.

Ahh see that's where I think you are making an error. I agreed with your first post overall. However it's an assumption that poster has some issue with race. If anything I think people questioning about dei are more informed than "is this woke?" Most issues with it are the types of studios that aggressively go for that funding and who have overly biased views that they want to put in the game. It's not even a super small issue anymore but an issue where it's pretty annoying reading about some developer or consultant type who thinks everything is a patriarchal disaster that's spiraled out of control and they themselves are the only people smart enough and brave enough to take bold steps to "clap back." The downfall of society being cis gendered white men. It's such a boring overplayed trope now for 7 years.

I love good games and could care less if there's a woke game or whatever. I love remedy games. However the games that really try to force far left narratives as a goal of the game I actually try to avoid. Just like I would if it were movies or shows. I want to be entertained and not feel like I'm watching a "the more you know" afternoon educational TV advert.

I always hated the term “woke” but I will not lie and say, especially recently, I cannot help but look for that or similar keywords in reviews as a general indicator to whether the game is “good or bad”, even though it is never the main reason for its potential failure.

I think it just disappoints me that at the end of the day, the only thing DEI has done for the community is sabotage existing beloved franchises… so successfully, that it feels like a collective driven industry goal.

I just hope HB2 is spared, as Sanua is the perfect inspirational heroine who overcomes horrendous torment and challenges, and I would love to continue being motivated by her courage... without any modern day politics preferably.

AMEN !

The game is already """"""woke"""""" for it's narrative focus on mental illness, written with professional consultation of the sort that Gamers™️ blame for making Deadshot black.
General Zod May 20, 2024 @ 8:30am
jesus christ you need BLOOD, all crazy sh*t or do you really bother this kind of sh*t like DEI? Hope you never play it
