"Our game camera is anamorphic with a 2.39:1 aspect ratio, meaning on your average display there will be letter-boxing."
Now they want me to buy a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ 21:9 LCD with tons of backlight bleed and motion blur?
Or buy an OLED?... Did you take a break from worshiping your John Linneman altar to cry about CRT vs LCD like it's 2014??... Also: Only 75Hz???...
It really is stupid not making games 1:78.1 which 16:9 is the high majority. Im sure the mods will fix this quick. Or hoping Ninja Theory will at least give an option for it.
There really is no point to doing this old school method of telling a story in todays world of high resolution monitors. Because now, the view is smaller and more narrow, which makes no sense to limit the player. Yea, it may work for a movie, but its never worked for a game.
I mean, you spend all this money on a high priced 4K and above monitor. Yet your screen is going to get cut off on the top/bottom and just not be used. Yea, cause that makes so much sense.
Clearly speaking for yourself there, ultrawides have been the new standard for a long time now. Buying a 16:9 monitor in 2024 is way behind the times.
Actually, thats not the point. Since in the PC gaming world there is no actual standard for aspect ratio. A lot use 16:9, 16:10, 21:9, 32:9, etc. Theres a lot of different setups. Not one is actually a standard.
However, if on console they are mainly used with 16:9. As they get connected to TV's and not PC monitors. So than the standard there for living room entertainment would actually be 16:9. Even TV broadcasts. They are still mainly 1080i in the US. So TV's dont have the different ratios PC monitors do.
2.39 is mainly used for cinematic scenes and movies. Dont bring that artistic nonsense here. Let us have FS. Just like it annoyed many players with The Evil Within and thats why it was patched to give users a choice to make it FS.
Im sure once people find this out about the game. Youll see more players have issues with it too.
75hz on a CRT is more clear in motion than 240hz on a OLED. And that is not hyperbole
ass long as tehre is an option too disable there letterboxing i wont refund
