Unfortunately, yes. The target audience is people who don't have psychosis so the game can lift the stigma around it.

Unfortunately if it distresses you to much you probably should leave it. Maybe watching a Lets play is something you could go for. (I know playing it is something else, I am sorry for you)
PS: maybe my comment is a little bit out of place here.

This was the first game that triggered such thing on me, and I'm playing since the 90's.
Turning off speech volume also turn's off all characters voices, it should be good to have an option to just turn the psychotic ones.
Tried to play it a second but, it's not for me unfortunately.
