both have been poisoning the gamine industry for years now
The studios which were closed by Microsoft were pitching ideas for their next games and were turned down. Ninja Theory not only have a game in early development already but have had a second greenlit. Microsoft/XBox is pretty obviously briefing parts of the gaming press that Ninja Theory are fine (eg Jez Corden at Windows Central).
If you post every year that Ninja Theory is going to close then chances are one year you're going to be right. Don't think it looks like this year. Would say that the danger of Game Pass is that of Netflix where the initial glut of content kills the competition and then things get cut back so there is less choice and less risk taking. What Ninja Theory have done here is pretty adventurous so I'll give Microsoft credit for letting them do their own thing here at least.
I thought it wouldn't be worth it either, and while I still feel the game leaves something to be desired (namely, another gameplay/ fight mode)? The experience was MUCH better than Hellblade 1. I suggest getting it on Gamepass at least. You really need to try it. It's unlike anything else. I actually had to stop pressing buttons a few times to make sure I was really even still playing lol. Other times I was trying to parry/ block and she wouldn't do it and had learned that I had crossed into some in-combat cut-scene and hadn't known it lol. It all blends too well. Combat is outright sick.
Also, you can rebeat the story 3 times for different perspectives on the story. A lot of people aren't factoring this in, or mentioning it. Kind of like how in Alan Wake 2 you can beat the story for a different ending a second time through.
Anyway, play the game before you decide to "shutdown" NinjaTheory lol
