She had to fight voices in her head constantly warring with her and each other to put her in a state of continued turmoil. Most of the best parts of Hellblade were entirely brought on by Senua's hallucinations and emotional journey, even the bosses she fought were reflections of herself and her struggles to overcome personal fears and hurdles.
Quite literally the entirety of the first game was about her overcoming herself, her doubts, her fears, and her guilt. It was about through sheer willpower she would better herself and move forward.
Renaming "Senua's Saga: Hellblade II" seems to be an attempt to correct that while still keeping "Hellblade" in the name to avoid misleading current owners of the first one.
I would even have hoped they took advantage of the last ray-tracing patch for "Hellblade" to rename it "Senua's Saga: Hellblade" for more uniformity.
Basically first game was Blood Omen : Legacy of Kain , second was Legacy of Kain :SoulReaver ..although they abandonded it and went with Legacy of Kain as the main title after that .. (except for side game Blood Omen 2)
It quite literally was your topic.
Your argument was that the game isn't about Senua, thus the game shouldn't be named after her, so having it overshadow the IP (I.E Hellblade) name is misleading.
When the first game and presumably the franchise is entirely about Senua.
Not to mention your Alan Wake example wasn't even proper naming conventions, This still refers to it as Hellblade 2 not "Senua's Sacrifice 2: Hellblade"
Where as to be as ridiculous as possible to over-exaggerate your very pointless point. You put the number first as if it were a secondary title in of itself rather than a chronological symbol.
In all reality, the game doesn't even need Hellblade's IP title to actually make sense, the series of games could literally be "Senua's Sacrifice" then "Senua's Saga" Because "Hellblade" really has NOTHING to do with the story at all, or the game. Hell, there is nothing special about her blade, in fact its a trinket on Senua's hip that has any real power at all.
