No character creation?
The only thing I can set is the banner, then the RNG just puts out uneditable characters? I liked that in Wildermyth I could create my own party from scratch.

Yep, it's something I would have changed. However that doesn't change the game-play mechanics which are very much worth experiencing.

Also, in a sense you do get to control of character creation - just not to start with, and not to any real degree for several generations (talking about the bloodline system here, and how kids l inherit traits from parents & trainer). But by the end of a run, with a bit of luck, you can largely get the characters you want .
