Game Ending -spoilers-
So, I finished the game yesterday. I really enjoyed the play thought even though it did get a little bit repetetive close to the end. I found the last level easy, defending the chalice was a breeze with two hunters and two alchemists to slaughter pretty much everything before it came near me!

So I finished the level, felt pretty pleased with myself and started watching the ending cinematic. It ended very abruptly, the chalice told me I had to die and bam, finished. I was wondering if anyone knew if they planned on adding a bit more to the ending, or if that was it? If so it's a bit dissapointing. One of my pet hates with games these days is half assed endings, I was hoping for a bit more info on what happend after I died, as I had such a large part in shaping the land.

Overall a great game, though.

Same here. Most games these days lacked a good ending (Massive Chalice, Civ V, Endless Legend, Falleen Enchantress, Age of Wonders III, etc)

Yeah, the ending was a bit lackluster. I'd say they're probably going to expand a tad more...or it's sequel bait (which I hate but this game is an exception). It's a great game. I would not mind a sequel, ass long as it is not popped out immmediately and then exploited for dlc.

I think it really needs to tell you something about what happens from that point on.

Needs to be randomized to I reckon, like.....

House .......... fought house............. for control of the land for the next 70 years.............

or

House ............ and house ............. became the dominant houses working to gether for the benefit of the citizenry............

The ending felt lacking to me. So much left unexplained... a new game plus would be nice too.

The game's epilogue is that another game starts. The chalice straight out says that your existence will be erased and no one will remember you, but that the cadence would come back and that people would have to assemble the chalice again to stop it, but that you should be happy as because of your sacrifice the world would know years of peace before the cadence comes again. Once they do, it's time for another game in an endless cycle to allow the lives of your citizens to continue.

I think the ending is fine since everything we see is from the ruler's point of view, there's nothing to see once the rule doesn't exist anymore.

The whole game lacked a good story, so it's not like the ending should have had much more.
