Saves wiped out!?!

I am so disappointed. I saw Steam updated the game today, went in to play, and I have no continue option. Guh :(

Your version 0.85 save games should work OK with the new 0.86 patch. The game does not attempt to wipe or delete them. From what we've seen this issue usually occurs due to steam cloud save synchronization. Check the DF forum post here for some workaround notes: http://www.doublefine.com/forums/viewthread/15511/

There is no option currently to delete an individual save game from the game interface. If you exit the game, you can delete -all- the save games manually from the folder mentioned in that thread, disable cloud saves if appropriate, and relaunch the game. Warning: this will clear all your save games.

Thanks![ I hate to bug you with another issue, but my humble bundle page seems to have me mistaken for a 20 dollar backer when i backed at 50. I had a problem with missing saves too, though not after an update. Restarting Massive Chalice and Steam in various ways didn't help. In the end I found the following worked for me on Mac OS X:

1. Close Massive Chalice and Steam, if they're open.

2. Open ~/Library/Application Support/Doublefine/MASSIVE CHALICE/

(Open a Finder window and click "Go > Go to Folder..." in the menu, then copy and paste the line above.)

In that folder you'll find some .sav files and then a folder with numbers. You might want to copy and paste the whole folder somewhere as a backup at this point :-\

If there isn't a folder with numbers, you might need to go into the game, create a new save game, then quit.

3. Copy the the .sav files that are in the base folder into the folder with numbers, overwriting files that might be there (if any).

4. Open Steam / Massive Chalice. Hopefully your saves might be back :)

My uninformed theory is that I might have quit Steam before my save files were synced, or opened Massive Chalice through the application shortcut instead of through Steam and gotten it confused.
