Fast mode?

Today I managed to beat the game and I'd like to try a brutal iron game. But there's one thing that annoys me so much, and that's the wasted time during battles. After every move involving an attack, you have to wait for the battlecry, xp bar, enemy animation (like bulwark armoring itself, ruptures slowly blowing up one at a time), etc etc, and every one of these events have a 2 second gap in between them. Discovering new enemies is the same, camera focuses on them and you're stuck for a few seconds.

It might not seem like much, but when 2/3 of the time during battles is spent on waiting for things you don't care about, it gets annoying. Am I missing something? Is there a way to speed this up? Or skip it altogether?

I'm sure there's a delay because there needs to be some sort of calculation that needs to take place that requires a few moments. Such as adding XP or removing the monster sprite from the battlefield and so on.

Then again, let's say they could could speed it up.. what about immersion?

Invisible Inc on default speed is a lot faster than this and in my opinion also way more immersive (as far as that's possible in a turn based game), with only minor delays at the start of a turn. With massive chalice, things like the battlecry and xp notifications are nice, but should not delay the gameplay imo. Things like ruptures exploding take way too long, especially if there's more than 1 blowing up. After it has blown up, it takes like 2 seconds before the next thing happens.

It all seems like minor delays and nitpicking, but it adds up and it's really influencing how much I enjoy playing this game. When it takes 15 minutes to do a fight while it could take 5 minutes, it adds up.

I totally agree with Frib. I'm closing in on the end of my first playthrough, and I can only take the game in small doses because of this. Many games in recent years have implemented fast animation to push things along, including ones that aren't even turn-based.

Same here, I found the game to be unplayably slow. I ended up just using Cheat Engine's speedhack to make the game run at 3x speed.

Perhaps that will dawn on you about the same time it occurs to you to stop following me around in steam forums for games you don't own.

What benefits do you gain from the labelling and insults? Do you think that the people you're targeting are gonna think "ah yeah maybe he is right I am acting a bit silly here"?

I think they just see you as another pompous internet browser. It hasn't dawned on you yet that you spend more time complaining about the trolls than the trolls do complaining about the game. Haha. You couldn't even work that out for yourself.

We'll see if DF mods allow you to continue to exist in a forum for a game you don't own for the exlusive purpose of harrassment.

Keep creating a log though your behavior, it'll catch up with you eventually.

yea i wouldve had a hard time answering those questions too.

Best thing to do is just hope the person humiliating me is gonna get banned. Better than dealing with it myself or admitting my own mistakes.

It's pretty simple, just download Cheat Engine here: http://www.cheatengine.org/
Start the game, then open Cheat Engine and go to File -> Open Process and open the Massive Chalice process(MC.exe). Then check Enable Speedhack, set a speed, and click Apply. You'll probably also want to go into the Cheat Engine settings and set up a hotkey for toggling the speedhack while you're in game.
