Mission variety

Just picked this up for US$4, so the price is right, but are all the missions just bug hunts? Go here, find and kill the monsters, go home? Nothing wrong with that, just seems limited. There's a lot going on, and a lot of it is hard to grok completely (in my five hours in game).

Some of the bug hunts are a little more complex but they are all bug hunts. There are more strategic decisions than just choosing regents and partners. However, it isn't a $40 AAA title.

I've built three or four keeps and some weapon and health upgrades, and I do one of the fights whenever they show up. Actual missions are oddly rare, too. I just feel like I'm missing something.

And I'd say this is a game you need to play thru more than once to fully appreciate both its design and your decisions playing it.

An opportunity just about everyone who plays it gets to experience and you'll understand why in time. ;)

Mostly. There's a few special missions that are slightly different bug hunts, and the variety of monsters keeps it pretty fresh, but almost all the missions are simple bug hunts.
