What would you like to see in Massive Chalice 2?
So, this game's ending leaves things pretty open for a sequel. It's universe and story could absolutely be expanded upon. Plus the game play could also be tweaked, improved, and have to features added to it. Kind of like how Fallout 2 built upon and improved on the first Fallout in every way. Here are some things I'd like to see in a Massive Chalice 2.

Wizard class--A wizard class is sorely missed in this game, and there are many abilities that it could have. Like an unbreakable ice wall that melts after a few turns and chain lightning. Their weapon could be a wand whose regular attack is a magic bolt. Imporved wands could replace the basic magic bolt with things like fireballs that always explode when they hit their mark, or an eldrich wand that causes dark tentacles to pop out of the ground and attack anyone within one tile of them. Wizards by themselves leave a lot to the imagination, but crossed with the other classes leaves even more to the imagination.

Overwatch feature---One passive skill this game's tactical combat could benefit from is the option to put a character into an overwatch mode, like in X-com. Caberjacks and Alchemists would attack any enemy that comes within one square of them during the enemy's turn, and Hunters would shoot at any enemy that moved or attacked in shooting range of the Hunter during the enemy's turn. It adds defensive tactical options to the game play that could come in handy.

Difference between research and building---I didn't like the idea of the research que and the building que being the same thing. I've played countless other games where you could have research going at the same time that you are building a structure. I just don't see why constructing a building should take time away from researching new armor or something like that. I'd like to be able to have a building being made while research is going on in the background without one having to tie up the other.

Bigger world and world map---It was hinted at in this game that the map we saw may have been surrounded by the candence and their corruption, but that there is a world beyond it. After the ending of this game I imagine that the cadence are pushed farther back and more of the world is opened up to people. What we saw in this game was likely a small window of a much larger world. I'd like to see what that world looks like.

More background on the Cadence and the Chalice itself---Like I said, the story of this game could be greatly expounded upon. I'd like to know how the Massive Chalice itself was made, and who was put into it. I get the impression from their dialogue that the woman's voice was that of a Caberjack who became a Standard later in life, and the man's voice is of a Hunter who became a Scribe later on before they became the mind(s) inside the Chalice. The Cadence need a back story. They seem very Lovecraftian in nature, and it would be neat to see that nature come to light. Background and origin stories all around!

That's what I'd like to see. What would you guys like to see in a MC2 game?

Some basic mechanic tweeks that would dramatically save me time would be:

1. When appointing regents and partners, to populate a list of hero traits or have them appear in the hero summary. I find myself clicking through 10ish heros to find the one with the right traits.

2. Similarly for appointing a standard, having their personality attributes appear each hero summary would save alot of search time.

3. when selecting the vangaurd, there should be a way to cycle through the hero list in the detail, stats, and skill tree screens. Again I find myself clicking through each hero summary to find which one had a particular skill chosen.

Maybe there's shortcuts for some of these and I just don't know where they are.
Also, getting a clear idea of the male/female ratio in my hero roster and who is still fertile takes more time than it should.

The info necessary for making decisions should be closer to the surface and at a glance.

Agree on the overwatch idea too.
Also don't really dig how an attack at the beginning of a turn will end the turn. Should be able to at least move after. In choke points and other rare circumstances, the order of attack and move matters.

It might be superficial of me, but I would like to see some normal weapon types. The weird weapons turned me off of this game a lot.

A different developer to start off.

A fundamental change in Double Fine's approach to game development. A small team working on a game for a short period of time may yield adequate games, but will never produce great or even interesting games.
A developer with less pretentiousness, less superiority complex, and more ambition, more flexibility and a basic willingness to listen to backers' feedback for a CROWD-FUNDED EARLY ACESS game.

I wonder: does Double Fine actually have any fans left, or have they burned up that resource entirely by now?
Double fine basically raped me and all the other Kickstarter backers by making a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game that kept few of the promises made during the Kickstarter-campaign. The least they could do by now is let the community that Kickstarted the game get custody over it. Support for mods and community content could have saved this game for me. Of course, the overall weapon designs and enemy designs are ♥♥♥♥, but i could have lived with that if the actual game was more than a tedious ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ grind.

failed promises, financially incompetent developers, overhyped junk, incomplete and left for dead projects...

Double Fine is the new Peter Molyneux.

What to do with their future games?
- Don't pre-order
- Don't believe in their hype (or lies)
- Read the review first prior purchases

At this point I'd just settle with Double Fine not taking our money and running. If they'd actually produce a game these days, I'd be pleasantly surprised.

Sad state of affairs, innit?
I kickstarted this piece of ♥♥♥♥ game and i'd be happy if someone sued Double Fine. I don't feel we were given anything promised by the game, and i feel ripped off. They should at least be forced to hand over the whole game, source code and all, to a team selected by the kickstarter backers to deliver the game they actually deserve. This game in my point of view is not what the early concept art promised, and is nowhere near as fun as the games it was compared to during development, such as Crusader Kings 2. Futher more, references to the television series "Game of Thrones" were made early in the campaign, and the picture that painted in my mind was a much more complex and interesting game than this steaming pile of putrid crap. HOW IS IT ANYTHING LIKE GAME OF THRONES WHEN IT ALMOST TOTALLY LACKS INTERNAL POLITICS AND INTRIGUE?! The monsters were totally unnecessary. They should have just made it a game where humans fight humans over land, with fantasy elements thrown into the mix. Finally, the weapon design is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful. If they just went with conventional weapons with a fantasy look, they could have saved valuable time and money. I get why their only recent success is Gang Beasts, and that's because when they aim big, they ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fail hard. Gang Beasts is simple, fun, and retarded. And that's the kind of game Double Fine should stick with trying to make. When they promise something as grand as Massive Chalice could have been, they rape the hopes and dreams of young gamers like me.
