Sandbox Mode v1 mod is live and going strong!!
Hey Spacebasers!! I spent the morning creating and testing a sandbox mod. You can download it here.[www.dropbox.com] It makes use of the mod loader so just put the the .zip in your mod folder. Big thanks to Squirrelly Wrath for assembling my changes into init.lua, you are the greatest!!

Changed:
-- Start with 200000 materials
-- Everyone get very happy, very quickly with their job to the point of 'Ecstatic'
-- No asteroid impacts
-- No Raiders or Breaching ships or Hostile Immigration until your population is 100+ (by then you should be able to defend quite easily)

Left in:
-- Mega Assault at the endish
-- Hostile Derelicts (enter at own risk but will float away after awhile)
-- Friendly Docking after you agree via trasmission

Note: A couple of times my crew started brawling but it doesn't affect their overall happiness.

Let me know what you think!!

I'll check it out later; although it's fun to scramble while everything falls to pieces, it'll be nice to try out an ideal situation,

indeed!! thats kinda why i made this, can you let me know how it goes?

I just noticed this post on the DF forums[www.doublefine.com] which sounds like it does something like you want, but I can't figure how to change this setting. Also: any chance you can set this up as an actual mod zip like JP set up in 1.06? It would make this easier to install.

I am having an issue with the init.lua for the mod so until I get that solved, I have uploaded a .zip here[s000.tinyupload.com] with the files in the same directory structure as the game.

After looking at someone else's mod, it looks like that your changes would all be contained within init.lua. I'll see if I can figure it out if I get some free time later today/tomorrow.

Awesome thanks!! I've been playing with it but I can't get my changes to load and prevent the mains from taking priority.

Since this was asked for here and on DF's forum...here is your mod as a zipped init.lua file so it can be dropped in the Mods folder and loaded automatically. This will allow your mod and Team DoubleSpank's Delay of Annoyance mod to be loaded at the same time (if someone wanted both sets of changes).

NOTE:
The game appears to load the mod zip files in alphabetical order so I suggest adding numbers at the start of the file names...."1 Sandbox Mode Mod.zip", "2 Delay of Annoyance.zip", etc.

The last loaded mod will determine the final setting used for things like "GameRules.STARTING_MATTER" but otherwise they should work when loaded together.

Oops, sorry pabloandnene, did not mean to ninja you on this. Interested to see what you come up with. As far as I can tell the creative/sandbox mode "flags" you reference did not make it into patch 1.06 so it is uncertain if DF will release that later. Also, as far as I can tell, the mod loading mechanism does not allow us to "overrride" the game's base files by including them in the zip file under the corresponding folder as was implied by DF's patch notes.

Wow, that is awesome. I was trying to call the scripts directly and didn't think to re-create them back into init.lua, thanks!!!

I'm curious about what pabloandnene come up with!!

Mine was similar, but did nothing. I found out on the DF forums, somethings wrong with the Mac and Linux builds of the game and mods don't load. :(

Awesome, thanks!! So I can use this AND Delay of Annoyance at the same time?

Oh neat. Thanks, Cridge for the mod. And Squirrely Wrath for the 1.06 .zip mod format.

This mod sounds interesting, but the link doesn't work. Was there an issue with it, did the dev take it down, or is it just outdated link or something?

You are very late to the party. Everyone appears to have given up on this project...
