this "game" should be left to die.
it's bad enough that they have skenners and co making it look better than it is, now you want some youtuber make it more visible to gather more support ?....
i bet you put out fires by adding more fuel ?
After 1.09, there wont be any patches from the SBRS team, also known as Derelict Games.
spacebasehub.net was/is our site for patch distribution and whatnot.
Im only in half agreement with mush-room in that after the patch is done, the game should be left for the rest of us to move on. Its codebase isnt worth the effort in restoration and you might as well produce a new game entirely as thats what you're up against.
If you're as stubborn as I am, go for it, I'd be happy to answer whatever questions you have on it.
But yeah, theres so much history to this game that continuing it isnt worth the nickels and dimes worth of effort to put into it and DF wont let it go to someone else. Anyone that takes it on is going to get stuck and give up.
for the current production of what we've done with all the patches, the codebase is open to all at gitlab:

fork it, produce it, whatever. Im going to finish up 1.09 and thats it for Derelict/SBRS as ill be finally moving on to my own titles :)

Well fires can burn themselves out so maybe more fuel is the key ;P
But seriously, I do appreciate your response. It let's me know to not waste time on this "game."
I'm sorry to hear that it was that bad. I would say that this game did inspire others so I look forward to games like Space Haven as it's looking promising. So at least it's not a total loss.
I hope your own titles do well. Will you still be using the studio title of Derelict Games? Regardless, good luck :)
It wasnt all bad, I met some great people who I still talk to now and are some of the smartest guys in the room. And most talented too. And like you said, it spurred creation of other great games.
And thanks, but I wont be releasing under Derelict Games, ill be under my own label that i havent decided on yet, so thanks!
