ok, so ive gone through some of my old notes and being that its been about a year since ive looked at the code, im checking the git repos to see what needs to be done.
What I want to look at over the next 2 months is this:
- Load/Save functionality (i think that might be done by one of the Derelict guys)
- Remove the save and quit (and add on the save game warning)
- Check through the Learn to Play to make sure it makes sense
- Go through the Buglist
- Write up a quick Savegame reader (So i can see what the hell DF has done and why ours are doubling up so much).
- Janitor stuff. I actually started this entire thing because I wanted a janitor in my gameplay. Funnily enough, never got round to it over the 4 or 5 patches we made.
- Remove the credit system (I really cant be bothered finishing the economy i was going to write)
- Glass Walls. We did some tests with glass walls and floors in the past which were really cool. They werent implemented because our superstar was busy.
- Check the Difficulty Settings to make sure they're actually working (in the galaxy screen)
- Check the tech tree (make sure its still good to go and balanced enough).
- Check Pathfinder.lua file to see if i can optimise that sucker or just cry while looking at it again.
- New Rooms? (Observation room/deck, Happy Room?)
- Check the Oxygen freakout settings to see if i can get them to snap into action to run away or something.
Thats a huuuuuuuuuuge amount of work (the bug fixes alone are a ♥♥♥♥♥), but if i can manage to get through that, Ill see what else I can implement. If not, im not worried. My biggest concern is the bug list.
so yeah, groovy! See you in a couple of months.

But just a big bug fix would be really appreciated.
Ill see if theres anything else we can do to have a look at making it a bit easier too.

If you could, it would be great to update the News section on the webby to reflect the possibility of 1.09. I'm sorry to hear that Derelict has been set adrift, but such is life. All of the team's hard work is the perfect tonic to the masses of bitterness and resentment that orbit this game. Thanks again!
as for the site, ill see if one of the guys can update it. ill write something up at some stage. All the thanks goes to the team though, they're a massive influence and hard working bunch that got some of the better patches happening (1.08.1 for example).
thanks!

im going through it now.

The haters hated because you made a awsome game but bugs made it unplayable at some point. It your game was crap you would not have gotten much or any hate.
So just remember, haters hate out of love for the game. So never let that get you down.
But after that, it'll be time to move on. Thanks for the support!

Well I appreciate what you have done so far and look forward to what this unofficial patch will bring to the table.
