Heroic difficulty increased?
Probably a skill issue. I've been losing Heroic runs way more often after the v0.4.0 update, anyone else?

Yeah...same thing here.
Are your towers on cool-down for 2 turns when you place them now? I've just come back to playing after a few months break and that 2 turn cool-down thing is nuts. Nevermind it's the new flame - should read the fine print lol

I found a SUPER cheese method. I use chonk with arcane starfall towers and win everything. It's hard to explain, but take every artifact or anything on arcane damage amplification and just spam starfall towers + red upgrade and you win. I just won heroic citadel like twice over easy
I struggled through - i ended up using, and a lot of flamey bois and laser turrets when i did.
But you really need to use the on map power ups. They make a bigger difference than you realise

There's less need for upgraded turrets for chapter 4, which a good variation.

You said "chonk". Did you mean "Chunk"? If so, how does that help you?

It took me several tries to win the 4th map heroic, and I did it with Chunk and starfall towers as others have recommended. I replayed maps 1-3 after the update, and there is definitely difficulty scaling, with the most marked jumps happening between A2/3 and A3/4. Act 1 was laughably easy compared to 4. In 4, I needed relic synergy and active use of the "target this enemy" and supercharge abilities to win on heroic. The last boss is laughably easy compared to most other levels in A4, especially with Chunk's ability to just lay blocks wherever.

I don't know whether this was intentional or not, but I definitely prefer the maps in this order, in their current incarnations: 4, 2, 1, 3. One is too easy, 3 just feels bad to play on due to the ice mechanic, 4 has the most interesting mechanics but is the most punishing, and 2 is still easy but fun when you want to breeze through a playthrough without thinking too hard or relying on RNG.
